Trees for Survival Update Thank you to Doug and Clare Cleverly Earlier this term thirty of our students planted a large number of trees on a property in Pukekohe as part of the Trees for Survival programme. The property owners, Doug and Clare Cleverly, were impressed with the motivation, maturity, fabulous behaviour and hard work of our students. They have made a $1,000 donation to the school that will be used to purchase a water tank for our Hive area. Our students always make us proud with their behaviour when they go out into the community representing the school and it is wonderful to hear such positive feedback. Well done to everyone who took part. Along with the obvious educational benefits, this is a fun event for the children. Good luck everyone! Point View Team 1 finished in first place with a very creditable 220 points! Congratulations to the team. It was great to see how excited the middle school children were about science. I have read every comment written by the Year 6 helpers and they wrote some really lovely things about the children from PVS and the other schools. I was also very impressed by how well the Year 6 Little Einsteins supported the groups. Stuart Rankin - Organiser

WOW - we did it again! Every year more and more schools join us for this competition and this year there were a total of 11 schools making up 24 teams (i.e. 96 players). Point View had many Merit, Credit, Excellence and even Distinction certificate winners this time around. A special acknowledgment for Daniel Tang who won all his games and has been invited to play in the Championship Trophy competition to be held in Wellington this year. He ranked sixth from all the players, Primary and Intermediate. We had five teams entered this year and even though we played against intermediate children (no mean feat) our teams managed to do really well, especially Team B who came in fourth place overall from all the primary and intermediate schools. As always the Point View children were very well behaved and did our school proud with some very good results. Here is the photo of all the proud players in Team B.

Room 15 We have been doing Curious Monday Science investigations. Last week we worked with milk and dye then we observed bubbles and the latest investigation involved ice experiments.

CONGRATULATIONS Huge congratulations to Katherine Groom and Lynne Laburn for preparing the most amazing dances for the local dance festival. There was great choreography, great music, and great energy and precision from the dancers, along with fantastic costumes, as always.

It takes a huge amount of work to get groups to this level for a performance. We are so grateful.
