This staff manual is packed full of information relating to product knowledge and sales points for the new TERIOS.Be sure to grasp a firm understanding of the car’s major features in combination with all other sales tools when attending to your customers.

Test Driving Tips

The new TERIOS is a car that allows the customer to appreciate the benefits for themselves simply by taking the car for a test drive.This chapter contains all the information required to help the customer experience the benefits of the car as effectively as possible when taking a test drive, and should be used when offering the customer advice at such times.

Specifications Icons

The settings of the equipment and functions may differ depending on the specifications. The specifications icons below are provided in this manual to show the settings.

This manual provides video footage to accompany the information in order to further deepen staff’s understanding of the product. This chapter explains basic performance of the new TERIOS. Be sure to fully understand characteristic features and advantages of the vehicle before explaining to a customer.

Information

Driving performance of the previous model has been enhanced further.

In addition to the firm vehicle body and FR-based 4WD, the new TERIOS is equipped with a newly developed 1.5L engine, allowing the customer to experience an upgraded driving feel both on and off the road.

Both compact packaging and wide cabin space have been achieved.

The packaging of the previous model, which was characterized by its compact design, has been reviewed to widen the cabin space. As a result, the new TERIOS can be used in various ways, such as when going out with a mountain bike.

A higher level of comfort has been achieved.

While the true off-road performance is being maintained, wind noise or other outside noises can be reduced and a quiet cabin space has been achieved. Furthermore, the cabin design has been improved and the joints between the parts have been finished smoothly to create a more comfortable space.

Features

It is an ideal size for driving around town, and it has great handling, but I see similar cars everywhere I look.

Low maintenance costs and great fuel consumption, but I feel uneasy driving on snow-covered or rough roads.

I can drive on rough roads with no worries, but it’s a little too big for me and not ideal for everyday use.

The high seating position results in good visibility, making it easy to drive, but it is too imposing and it stands out in town.

Seat Design

Since it was first produced in 1997, the first generation TERIOS has been sold in 110 countries throughout the world. This achievement makes the TERIOS a key product in Daihatsu's global strategy.With the current increase in demand for SUV's, it is now more important than ever that Daihatsu creates a niche for itself in the global SUV market. It is with this aim in mind that the new TERIOS was developed.This development centered on the idea of creating a sport utility vehicle that was both tough and casual. The ease and usability of a compact car have thus been added to the fun and versatility of an SUV, resulting in a vehicle with both the functionality and recreational ability that make long-distance trips enjoyable. The advanced synthesis of these two appealing concepts has resulted in the creation of an all-new vehicle genre.

Features of the new TERIOS include;• A combination of strength and refinement, resulting in an urban look indicative of the new SUV style• A creative interplay of drivability and spaciousness• A range of equipment aimed at providing reliability and comfort, combined with 4WD for increased

versatility

As the chief engineer of this project, the two aspects of this vehicle of particular interest to me are its design and driving performance.Large multi-reflector quad-lamps have been adopted on the front end to give the TERIOS the look and feel of an even larger SUV. In terms of driving performance, early in the development process TERIOS prototypes were taken to Europe and regions all over the world where they were benchmarked against other top-rated SUVs. In terms of basic handling and driving stability, safety features like VSC were tested in various parts of Europe in pursuit of a high-quality product suited for global use.

With its host of special features, I am confident that the new TERIOS will make headlines around the world for its popularity among individualistic young people as well as among young families with active lifestyles.

We have created the new TERIOS with the aim of producing a superior vehicle in every sense: design, comfort, versatility, functionality, and more. Our goal was to create the world's premier compact SUV. I believe we have achieved that, and hope you will have confidence in the marketability of this remarkable new vehicle. I wish you the best of luck in achieving increased sales with the new TERIOS.

Rear Doors Designed for Easy Boarding

• The rocker panels have been designed to make it difficult for toes or heels to get caught when getting into the vehicle, even though wearing sandals or high-heeled shoes.The size of the rocker panel has been increased in order to avoid scratches to the vehicle body.
