The Company

Tractor Engineers Limited (TENGL)is a wholly owned subsidiary

of Larsen & Toubro Limited, a USD 3 billion technology-drivenengineering and construction organization.

TENGLmanufactures crawler undercarriage and track parts at

its modern factory at Powai, Mumbai. The Company has asecond manufacturing facility located around 150 km from

Mumbai. A fully integrated ERPsystem SAP R-3 supports and

interfaces all processes. The manufacturing set up has a high

level of automation, with modern in process gauging along withsingle piece flow concept.

TENGLcontinues to make a major investment in upgrading its

manufacturing base and R&D facilities as part of its enduringcommitment to customer needs.

A specialized Technology Centre carries out design validation through field testing of

parts. This involves deployment of state-of-the-art and high-end instrumentation like

strain gauges, load cells, computerized load measurement methods, etc.

Sophisticated control systems for dimensional and micro-structural inspection

characterise the manufacturing process and ensure reliable and consistent productquality.

A parts quality verification program entails component testing till destruction. Actual

failure results are compared with theoretically expected failure zones arrived at by

stress analysis technique employing FEA. New generation image analysis software

provides a micro-structural analysis of destroyed parts.

TENGL's modern manufacturing facilities are equipped with advanced manufacturing techniques like single flow system, and online inspection checks. Metallurgy and heat treatment processes ensure high quality of parts. The factory also has a fully equipped prototype shop, where designs and manufacturing process concepts are tested and proven.

This manufacturing set-up has a high level of automation, integrated with modern in-process gauging along with single piece flow concept. Special heat treat processes ensure consistency and good hardened depth with a strong core for excellent component performance, durability and long life.

o Cone-shaped Belleville Washers fitted back to back for

effective sealing of link joints

o Special profile on bushing bore holds extra amount ofgrease compared to plain bore of bushings in sealed track.

o The compressible polyurethane dust seals offer effectivesealing. They lock the grease inside and dust remains out.

o Outside dust, dirt cannot enter the bush and pin joint. Gives longer life ofpin bushings compared to unsealed tracks.

Crawler System / Platform

from a single source

As a total 'Track System Solutions' provider, TENGL offers

complete crawler system or crawler platform with slew drive,

if needed. In addition to undercarriage components, it offers a

single window for designing and manufacturing track

frames/track modules/track lowers, for special applications.

The vertical product integration capabilities of TENGLprovide

total track system including final drive. This complete trackmodule comprises track frame duly wrapped with crawler

undercarriage on the sprocket and idler.

Crawler lowers from TENGLprovide a sturdy and dependablework platform for various special purpose or niche

applications. These crawler lowers or half machines provide

an efficient, effective and well-engineered system for mobile

or static applications.

TENGL's track lower featuring equalizer beam assembly along

with tie rod mechanism is unique in unitizing two track

modules on either side of crawler equipment. It sports

adequate degrees of freedom and is capable of operating

under the most demanding application which entails two sides

of tracks positioned at different heights or elevations forconstructing roads with a gradient.
