JUST BRILLIANT

GUIDES

Page 2: Temora Town Services Guide

TThe township of Temora has been built on the back of the gold rush period of the late 1800s. The century that followed saw Temora grow as a region of excellence in agriculture and grazing production. Temora locals pride themselves on the many ways they have devised to prosper by working together to meet the challenges of the landscape, climate and, in times past, the distance that separated Temora from the larger regional centres and capital cities.

Today we live in a new world where distance and communication, education and most services are no longer barriers to enjoying life in a modern and inclusive society. So if you have the time, please talk to the locals and get a feel for the lifestyle that people in rural areas enjoy so much.

While in town, be sure to check out the Temora Aviation Museum which features a range of historical exhibits. On the first and third Saturday of most months, visitors are privy to a f lying display of ex-military aircrafts. Open daily 10am to 4pm, excluding major public holidays.

If you’re interested in pioneering history, visit the Temora Rural Museum. Boasting a large collection of historical artefacts, the museum also houses the Ambulance Museum. Open daily 9:30am to 5pm, except for Christmas and Boxing Days.

If you’re keen for a night out, get down to the Town Hall which showcases the latest movies, opera and live theatre throughout the year. For recreational activities, the Temora Heated Pool is open all year round.

Additionally, you can take a meander down the main street or take a leisurely drive through the countryside. Perhaps you might consider taking in the early 19th century village of Ariah Park or having a picnic in one of the parks or at Lake Centenary.
