The year aheadIn 2013 Teko Socks will enter it’s 9th year. Over those years our socks may have evolved but our goal has remained true - creating the best possible performance socks with the least environmental impact.

Staying true to your goals is important to us but it doesn’t mean we aren’t always looking at ways to improve ourselves and our products. Our enhanced Dynamic Custom Fit™ now features in our Wintersport socks. We have launched improved construction features on our socks and, of course, our partnership with the Freeride World Tour® will increase our brand visibility.

With Teko for Nepal™ we work together with our retail partners to ensure that any test or demo socks are donated to the Sherpa communities at the end of every season.

Finally for 2012 we are launching Planet Positive™. Our belief is that durability is sustainability and we believe that others should feel the same way. We hope to spread the word about how to be a global company yet still care for the environment. If we lead by example hopefully we can inspire other companies to make the best product possible with minimal environmental impact.

FibersAt Teko Socks we are constantly researching and developing new ways to improve the fit, comfort and performance of our socks.

Our socks are constructed from three fiber groups: M3RINO.XC™, SIN3RGI® and EVAPOR8®. These three fiber groups have been developed by our research team to work in harmony with your foot and footwear to offer the best socks in terms of comfort, performance and durability.

Teko Sock?Choosing the right sock can be overwhelming. What cushion level do I want? How high? What am I going to use this sock for? All very important questions to answer before picking the perfect sock.

On the following pages you will fi nd an explanation of the different ingredients we combine to produce our socks; fi bers, fi t, height, cushioning and warmth ratings.

Socks play a challenging role within the micro-climate of a shoe - where managing moisture and breathability to provide optimum insulation from heat and cold is crucial.

CUSHIONINGAll our socks have a tab on the packaging to explain what it’s cushion rating is. In this workbook the cushion tab is written in the product name after the fiber. Then on the chart the socks cushion rating is on a sliding scale, to give a more accurate picture.

WARMTHWe have rated all our socks on a sliding scale to indicate how much warmth they offer.

Our M3RINO.XC fi ber is exceptionally soft, with natural moisture-wicking and insulating properties, making it ideal for hiking, trekking and wintersport activities.

We source our merino wool from Argentinian farms that have been raising sheep for decades - using responsible stewardship of the land, water and sheep - no mulesing and only conservative shearing.

SIN3RGI® is created from merging our M3RINO.XC™ with EVAPOR8® into one - an all around performance fi ber which has all the benefi ts of merino, but with enhanced durability and faster wicking capability makingit ideal for a broad range of activities in a broad range of temperatures.

EVAPOR8® is our ultralight, ultrafi ne and super-soft fi ber which is perfect for sweaty,fast-paced activities like running and road biking.

• Polyester fi ber made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste, such as plastic bottles

• with energy savings of 30% or more compared to manufacturing virgin polyester

• The polyester is spun to produce our ultra-fi ne EVAPOR8 fi ber, which is softer and more comfortable than other polyester based socks on the market

• Dyed in an MBDC silver certifi ed dye house

By understanding how the foot works we can design the worlds best socks. Our development team, consisting of biomechanical experts, work hand in hand with our product designers to create features that enhance fit, comfort and performance.

Dynamic Custom FitWe have invested a lot of time developing and perfecting the fit of our socks. There is no requirement for asymmetric left and right socks with Teko. After an hour of wearing our socks they adopt the custom shape of your foot ensuring complete comfort all day long.

Our socks are available in five different fit styles - designed to suit every aspect of your life and activity. Our Teko Wintersport socks for example help to achieve the perfect boot fit for skiing or riding. There is nothing unnecessary here, just the technical features needed to help keep your feet warm, dry and blister free.

These features, along with our environmental goals have led to a collaboration with the Freeride World Tour - naming us as Official Licensed Sock.

bluesign, an independent company who evaluate the sustainable manufacturing processes in the textile industry, have awarded M3RINO.XC™ BLUE - the highest possible rating. The chlorine-free process used to make M3RINO.XC machine washable and shrinkproof is the only bluesign certified shrink-proofing process currently available for wool.

MBDC CertifiedTeko uses a McDonough Braunart Design Chemistry certified dye house. This certification represents a commitment to the use of non-toxic dyes, alternative energy sources, water protection guidelines and transparency in corporate ethics and fair labor practices.

waldpatenschaft associationSince it’s founding Teko have been working closely with the waldpatenschaft association. The association was founded in 2010 to sponsor forest biodiversity. Waldpatenschaft buys or leases valuable forests to protect them from deforestation. Over time, these forests return as much as possible to their original state as species-rich forests. Waldpatenschaft provides environmental education and activities in these forests - including tours by qualified experts.

All of our socks have the size knitted into the inside of the cuff, with women’s preceeded with a W. This should help with the pairing up after wash day!
