This yarn is produced from industrial fishing nets collected from three regions in Europe: the North Sea (Netherlands and Belgium), the Adriatic Sea (Italy, Slovenia and Croatia) and the Mediterranean Sea (Spain).
The fishing nets are recycled, reprocessed and knitted in Italy.

Introducing Teko SOCKS4SOCKS!Donating socks to help disadvantaged children
At Teko we make socks. In fact we make the most planet friendly socks there are. We got thinking one day: If TOMS donates a pair of shoes for every pair purchased, then why couldn’t Teko donate a pair of socks? No reason at all so we can and we will! With our new SOCKS4SOCKS initiative for every pair purchased we will donate a new pair of socks to a child in need.
Why socks?
Socks are something we all take for granted. The difference they can make to your health and wellbeing is often overlooked. We will be working closely with local charities in our chosen countries to ensure that children get a new pair of socks to wear to keep them warm and comfortable.
But how does it work?
The socks you buy will be made of Merino wool. The socks donated will be made in Lahore. This will not only cut down on excessive freight but will provide employment for the local community. From the Fair Labor Association (FLA) certified factory in Lahore the socks will be distributed to children in need across the snow band to countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, India and Tibet.
