Write the following countries on the board: France, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Greece. Ask the students what they know about the food eaten in these countries. Elicit any ideas that the students have and record interesting or useful vocabulary on the board. Tell them that they are going to learn something about the Easter foods typical for these countries. 2. Distribute the first page of the Student’s Worksheet, folded as shown. The students work individually, matching the dishes to the countries. They may then compare their guesses in pairs. Next, ask them to unfold their worksheets and read the text in Task 2 to check their answers. Ask the students which of the dishes they like most, and why. Key: 1. Russia, 2. Greece, 3. France, 4. Brazil, 5. Spain 3. The students answer the questions under the text in Task 2. Do not explain any vocabulary at this point. Check with the whole group, focusing on meaning and drilling pronunciation where necessary. Key: 2. dried fruit, 3. (a) thousand, 4. gigantic, 5. square, 6. (a) cook, 7. round, 8. hard-boiled, 9. peanut 5. Tell the students to change partners. They should discuss the questions in Task 4, making notes of their own and their partner’s answers. Monitor and help where necessary as they do this. When they have finished, ask the students to change partners once more and discuss the questions again with their new partner and share with them their previous partner’s answers.
