As I listened to the news this week

about the changes proposed to the

funding of Social Care, it saddenedme to see that there is still so little

    inancial support for those who

wish to remain living in their own

home and yet need some care

    so why not conider

    All Bunbury Carer Companions

finances a spring clean, it really should!

Hopefully, most of you reading this column have utilised

your ISA allowances over the years, either via cash ISAs

or investment ISAs and even if youre not in a position to

make further contributions, it would be unwise to simplyrest on your laurels and assume that the ISAs you have

are still the best for you.

If you hold cash ISAs you may well have been shopping

around for the best of a pretty poor range of interest

rates on a regular basis, and perhaps even moving to a

different bank or building society to benefit from a better

    interest rate.

What if your ISA holdings are equity-based?

With personal finance grabbing more and more column

inches in the press, many investors have accumulated a

hotchpotch portfolio of investment ideas over the years

as each ISA season heralds the discovery of the next

    must-have asset class or fund.

And its easy to see why. The choice is potentially

bewildering. There are around 2,500 retail funds in the

UK into which investors can invest their stocks & shares

ISA allowance. Faced with the challenge of finding theright one, its easy to see why some base their decision

on whatever is the latest investment fashion, the most

impressive advert or the best claim to superior past

    performance.

Yet it is a decision thats important to get right

Each investors objective will be unique to their own

individual needs and goals. Whether you are looking

to provide additional income in retirement, buildinga capital sum for the future or a combination of both,

ensuring that your investments are working together

is vital for your future financial wellbeing. Regularly

reviewing your portfolio is an important discipline to

help achieve this goal and a habit that we should all stick

    to.

Selecting your ISA investment manager is one

consideration but regularly reviewing their performance

is an equally important factor. But how frequentlyshould you review your ISA portfolio? There is no right

or wrong answer to this question but the commonly

accepted view is that an annual inspection is adequate

for most. Identifying the strong performers (and those

that havent fared so well) is one aspect of the exercise

    but, fundamentally,

    investors should

    be asking one key

question: is this portfolio still working to achieve my

financial objectives? Conducting a regular review will

ensure that your investments are working towards your

    objectives.

Whether your portfolio needs a small tweak in one or

two areas or a complete overhaul, by working together

with your advisor, the process for getting your portfolio

back on the right course can be a simple and cost-

    effective one.

If you would like further information, or indeedarrange a meeting to review your ISAs, withoutinitial cost or obligation please contact me on 01948840738 or drop me an email to [email protected]

Broadband speeds in TarporleyCONNECTING Cheshire is a joint project between local councils whose aim is to harness

government funds to bring high speed broadband to all parts of the count, writes Ernest

    Boynes

The timing of the provision to an area depends upon the demand in that area as shown

b the number of residents and businesses that have registered. For Tarporle onl 63

potential users have registered! There are 1895 residents and 148 businesses on Tarporleexchange, but with only 63 registrations having been received, that is 3% of potential users,

this apparent lack of interest will put Tarporle wa down on the list for provision

In Tarporle, the most likel provision would initiall be FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet). This

means that the existing copper wire cable from the exchange in Park Road to the various

cabinets spread around the village would be replaced with cable constructed of bre optic.

Download speeds would rise from the current speed of about 10Mbs to 40Mbs, bringing

a faster and more reliable connection allowing people to watch TV or lms on line without

endless buffering. you will be able much more reliabl to contact famil and friends with

    Signiicant investment in the

    upkeep and drainage of the

    course itself makes Pryors

Hayes a regular go to venue for

    individual golfers, societies and,

    of course its loyal membership.

The course is open for almost

the whole year and, while it is a

    comfortable distance to walk, it

    presents an enjoyable challenge

    to golfers of all abilities.

Golf is clearly its raison detre,

    but Pryors Hayes can rightly

be proud of its wider oer

    which has contributed to being

    declared Club Mirrors Golf

Club of The Year for the past

    three years. Mystery visitors

    call into golf clubs throughout

the year and assess them on

    their playing and practice

    facilities (of course) but the

    genuine friendly welcome, well-

    stocked bar, alongside dining

    and special family occasions

    facilities and also,most importantly, on

    customer service.

    The Hayes

    Celebrations

    Marquee which

    can hold up to 175

    people leads into

    manicured gardens

    with a delightful wooden

    pagoda central feature where,

    as many have already done,

hold a civil ceremony, have your

    marriage blessed or just relax

on your special day with friends

    seated and gathered around.

    Pryors Hayes really is the

    perfect place for weddings and

    other family celebrations.

The Club doesnt rest on itslaurels however, looking to its

future and the future of sport

    by encouraging youngsters,

3-13 years, to take part in its

Tommy T series of golf tuition

    from beginners to winners

    with former tour professional

    Roger Shutt.

So, as The Hayes reaches its

20th Anniversary, this year willbe marked with events and

    occasions to give many people,

    golfers and non-golfers alike,

    an opportunity to get involved

in all that happens around the

    club. And what
