on a project to upgrade a major section of Mil-waukee Way between Lincoln Avenue and Mar-shall Avenue on the Port of Tacoma tide � ats.

This stretch of road is part of a Heavy Haul Corridor, which serves many port-related in-dustries and businesses.

According to Port of Tacoma of� cials and City of Tacoma of� cials, approximately three-and-one-half inches of the existing roadway surface will be ground off and replaced by a geotextile reinforcement layer overlain by three-and-one-half inches of new asphalt pavement.

The $867,000 project is being paid for by a $750,000 grant from the Puget Sound Regional Council, as well as $117,000 in heavy haul per-mit fees.

The contractor, Tucci & Sons, is scheduled to begin construction on Mon., June 30. The work is expected to last approximately four to six weeks. Access to all businesses will be provided during construction.

Proposals will be received until 11:00 a.m., Pacific Time, Tues- day, July 22, 2014, at which time they will be recorded. Proposals are not typically opened and read aloud. This is an open and continuous roster. Proposals received after the initial opening date above will be opened on the Tuesday following receipt of the Proposal in the Purchasing Office.

Project Scope: This Specification re-advertises the previously estab- lished On Call Roster (LAG) for Con- sultant Services. It may be utilized for projects that require the use of the Washington Department of Transpor- tation (WSDOT) Local Agency Guide- lines (LAG).

The City of Tacoma (City), Public Works Department, Engineering Divi- sion is re-advertising and expanding the existing “On Call Roster (LAG)” for consultant services in accordance with WSDOT LAG. The initial Request for Qualifications was published in ear- ly 2009 and republished in subsequent years. The solicitation has been con- tinuously open since that time as re- quired by LAG. This Request for Qual- ifications re-advertises the solicitation for 2014 per LAG requirements and expands the roster by the addition of three categories of service as shown below in bold text. Categories 8 and 12 have been added to replace previ- ously deleted categories. Category 16 has also been added as a new catego- ry.

This solicitation will be used to quali- fy firms for inclusion on the “On Call Roster (LAG)” for federally funded pro- jects and will be continuously open. Firms are strongly encouraged to re- submit to update their qualifications and/or submit qualifications for addi- tional service categories. However, firms that previously submitted their qualifications and have been notified they are listed on the roster may choose to submit a letter stating their qualifications remain the same and re- quire no updates. All proposers must provide documentation from WSDOT or another accepted gov- ernmental agency documenting review of the indirect cost rate for the current fiscal year (Current Audited Rates). Black out your overhead rate on your copy of the last audited approval letter before submitting. Firms will not be added to the roster until documentation is submitted. Firms already on the roster must provide this docu- mentation by the initial opening date of July 22, 2014 or your firm will be removed from active status on the roster.

Proposing firms will be evaluated through a review of the submitted Statement of Qualifications, Project Summaries, Project Personnel Experi- ence and Reference Checks.
