Accommodation Spending the summer at res??

Res is open this summer! Are you studying, working in Warrnambool, doing volunteer work or placement…? Or just need somewhere to stay? Contact the res office to discuss your summer stay options! Applications are now open for both shared accommodation and studio summer stays!

Summer stays at res — FAQs

Do I need to be studying units over tri 3 to stay on res?

No!! In the past this has been the case, but not anymore!

Can I move from shared accommodation to an NRAS studio apartment?

Yes! And vice versa! You are able to move into NRAS provided that you meet the NRAS entry criteria (almost all domestic students do—discuss this with the res office if unsure).

Can I stay in the same room I am in now?

If you are already in NRAS, you can stay in the same apartment over the summer. You can also arrange for a 12 month lease that means you can stay right through to the end of T2, 2015!

Students living in shared accommodation over the summer are grouped together. This is done for security, socialisation and maintenance reasons.

Do I need to move out or go home at the end of this trimester?

No! But as mentioned, students living in shared accommodation are grouped together over the summer—this means you may have to move to another room at the end of trimester 2.

If you have any further questions or are thinking about staying on res this summer, come down to the res office! As always, the Res Team are happy to help out.

Maintenance Requests – NOW ONLINE We have recently made significant improvements to the Deakin Residential Services website. As part of this you will notice that there is no longer a link to directly report maintenance requests. This is now available through the Resident Login area, at the top right corner of the webpage after entering via your campus link, or via this link http://starrez.deakin.edu.au/StarRezPortal/ In order to submit a maintenance request you will require your Residences Login and Password: Once you have logged in, you will then need to select the Maintenance tab at the top of the page, then New Job. This is where you will also see any open requests that you have previously reported. You will then be also have to select the Category, and the Item effected, and provide a brief description. Then select Save and Continue. Your request is then submitted to the Residences Office. You can also review any previous requests via the Residences Portal. If you have an URGENT request, or have any concerns please contact the Residences Office directly.

Please do not pull magnetic doors open,
