FEAR NOT

How do people find hope in the face of suffering and death? That is the ques on addressed by today’s scrip-tures. We hear of the suffering of Jeremiah and the psalmist. We hear of the death that “reigned from Adam to Moses” (Romans 5:14). We hear of the fears of the Twelve as Jesus sends them out into the world to preach and heal.

Through all this tribula on one message rings out loud and clear—“Do not be afraid!” The God who saved Jeremiah and the psalmist and Jesus is fully present to save us through the gracious gi of Jesus Christ. We have nothing and no one to fear. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

Dear parishioners, This weekend, we bid farewell to Fr. Michael Rennier who has served us well as our associate pastor for these past five months! We offer our very best wishes to Fr. Michael as he assumes the du es of pastor at Epiphany of Our Lord parish in South City! We offer our praise and thanks to God for Fr. Michael’s goodness to so many in our parish community!

I know that Fr. Michael has inspired many with his though ul homilies, his morning welcomes to our school children, his faithful celebra on of the Sacraments and his warm presence at so many ac vi es and events throughout his me here at Holy Infant. We have cer-tainly been richly blessed by his compassionate and prayerful presence!

Let’s pray that the Spirit of God con nues His great work with strong, faith-filled men and women who possess the true heart of Christ and bring faith and hope to the people they are called to serve!

Speaking of the true heart of Christ, this coming Mon-day, June 26th, we will have a special liturgy installing our new officers for our Holy Infant Knights of Colum-bus. We are blessed to have a very ac ve and generous group of men in our Knights of Columbus as well as women in our Ladies Auxiliary who have unflagging de-vo on to the ministry of our parish as well as the wider Church. Their support of Holy Infant School and our Par-ish School of Religion is extraordinary! They do great work promo ng voca ons to the priesthood and reli-gious life, support ministries for our youth and are very generous to the physically and mentally handicapped members of our community. Their great devo on to pro-life work is very impressive! They are certainly loyal to the amazing mission of their founder, Fr. Michael McGivney. I know that if I need something done well, I can always go to the Knights of Columbus! Thanks to the Knights for their goodness to our parish family and our community! God’s blessings for a great week!
