Children will learn basic skills to further their gymnasc and physical ability with a focus on coordinaon, balance, and building self-confidence. Class size is limited. Dates Time Day October 5-26 6:30-7 p.m. Tuesday October 6-27 6:30-7 p.m. Wednesday November 1-22 6:30-7 p.m. Monday November 3-24 6:30-7p.m. Wednesday December 1-22 6:30-7 p.m. Wednesday Fees: $10 Resident; $15 Non-Resident *Students will be required to wear form fing athlec apparel. Leotards, biker shorts, yoga capris and leggings are all suitable clothing opons. Hair should be pulled back and secured away from the students face. Pony tails should be lowvs top of head. Gymnascs (Ages 2-5) Lifeguarding Cerficaon Class (Ages 15+) Prepare yourself for employment at the Aquacs Center this upcoming summer with American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid/CPR/AED Cerficaons. Must be able to swim 300 yards non-stop, tread water for 2 minutes using only your legs, and pass a med brick swim challenge. Classes offered throughout the year at Lincoln High School, South Wood County YMCA, Stevens Point and Marshfield YMCAs. Dates and mes are to be determined. Please contact one of these organizaons for upcoming classes. This training provides kids, grades 6-8, with the informaon and skills necessary to provide a safe and responsible care in the absence of parents/guardians. Students should bring a bag lunch, doll or stuffed animal to class. Limit 8 per class. Pre-registraon is required. Locaon: City Hall Council Chambers. Please watch for a text, or check parks.wirapids.org and the Parks & Recreation Facebook page prior to calling the office regarding cancellation of various activities sponsored by the Parks & Recreation Department due to inclement weather. Classes missed for individual absences (i.e., illness, vacations, etc.) are not “made-up” nor may participants attend classes other than the one they are registered for.

Closures, Cancellations & Make-Ups

Photographs

For program promotion purposes, we may photograph several of our activities and their participants. Photographs may be used in various fliers, brochures or on our website. If you do not wish to have your or your child’s photo taken, please notify us when registering.

Refunds

Full Refunds will be given if: 1) Program is cancelled, 2) Attendee gives at least 24 hours’ notice prior to the start of the program, or 3) If there are changes to the original schedule and the participant can no longer attend. No refunds will be issued after the start of the program. Class fees will not be prorated.

Resident/Non-Resident

Non-Residency is any location outside of the Wisconsin Rapids city limits; i.e., Biron, Grand Rapids, Kellner, Nekoosa, Port Edwards, Rudolph, Saratoga, etc. Even if your address is Wisconsin Rapids, you are not considered a resident if you live in a surrounding community. If you have a question about your residency, please give us a call. We thank you for your interest and participation in our programs!!

COVID Guidelines

City Park Facilities for Rent

Wisconsin Rapids Recreation Center (681 Chestnut Street)

The Rapids Room (available year-round) Enclosed shelter; holds approximately 75 people. Kitchen with refrigera-tor, microwave, sink, serving window, counter space, eight 8’ tables. Resident rental: $150 + $100 key/security deposit; Non-Resident rental $250 + $100 key/security deposit.

Reservations taken on first-come, first-served basis with payment due at the time of reserva-tion. Reservations may be made online (parks.wirapids.org) or at the Wisconsin Rapids Parks & Recreation Department. Reservations may be made one year in advance.

League Applications (Ages 16+)

Mens’ Non-Competitive Basketball League (Non-Reffed) play will be on Wednesdays at Wisconsin Rapids Area Middle School. Deadline for registration is October 14. League play begins in November.

Pickleball Ladder League (Ages 16+) All skill levels welcome! League will play will be on Mondays at East Junior High Fieldhouse. League schedules are emailed weekly. No partner necessary, players will be seeded according to skill level. Limited number of participants. Deadline: October 14

Volleyball League play will be on Tuesday (Women's) or Thursdays (Coed). Deadline for registration is October 14. League play begins in November. Forms are available online or scan QR codes below:
