Where do I begin? This will be my last newsletter article as Pastor of MFBC. This is a bittersweet time for me and Retta. We are excited about what the Lord is doing, but it is tough leaving MFBC! We love you all so much! You have become our family over these 20 years! I have such sweet memories of our time here. The Lord has been good to us and has done great things because of you all! You have been people that will follow the Lord and His leader for the church. Stepping out on faith many times has shown His power and Glory! Thank you for your love for the Lord and for me and my fami-ly. We will be praying for you as you seek the Lord’s will for your next pastor! Pray hard and then do what He tells you to do. My desire is to see MFBC go to much higher ground than ever before! I believe you can. I believe that God had us here for this season to get you ready for your best days! I will always be here for all of you and your new pastor. If I can ever help in any way, please let me know. One thing that I will not do is hinder the new pastor and I hope you won’t ei-ther! He will not be the same as me and will do some things differently. The neat thing is, that a lot of what he will do different will take you higher as a church! I think that is the neat thing about different pastors coming in. God uses each one of us to do certain things and the others build on what we have done!

There are so many things that I want to thank you for, but I am so afraid that I will leave something or someone out, so let me generalize! Thanks to a wonderful staff that has followed me and had my back. They are a great bunch and I hope you will pray for them and support them during this transition. Thanks to a great group of deacons, who have been my friends through the years. You guys have wept and rejoiced with me. I still do not have negative things to say about MFBC deacons! Thanks to all of our Ministry Teams. You guys have done an outstanding job in your area of ministry! It’s amazing how much gets done here at MFBC! Thanks to the congregation! You all love the Word of God and have always encouraged me to keep preaching it! What a blessing that is to a pastor to have an atmosphere where you can boldly preach the truth! These 20 years have been the best years of the 32 years I have been in the ministry! I preached for 2 years before becoming a pastor and have been a pastor for 30 years now. God blessed me to be the pastor here for this time. Thanks for the encouragement, love, gifts, notes and cards and the prayers for me and Retta through the years. You made them special. I could write a book on my time at MFBC. We have wept, laughed and rejoiced together. We have shared special moments together here and around the world serving the Lord and just enjoying being around each other. I was your pastor but you were my friends as well. The phone number that I have now will stay here at the church for someone else to have. Get with me on Facebook or through Retta to get my new number. We love you! Godspeed on the new journey!

Summer Heat Safety Tips

Summer is here, and it is hot! Occasionally your body may be exposed to more heat than it can handle, resulting in a heat related illness such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or (the most severe) heat stroke. Infants and the elderly are most at risk, along with ath-letes, those who work outdoors, and those who take certain medica-tions. Here are some safety tips to help avoid heat related illnesses: - Limit outdoor exposure during hot days, especially between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. This is normally the hottest part of the day. - Air conditioning is the best way to cool off, according to the CDC. - Drink more liquid than you think you'll need. - Wear loose, lightweight clothing and a hat when outdoors. - Replace salt lost during sweating by drinking fruit juice or sports drinks. - Wear sunscreen. Sunburn affects your body's ability to cool itself. - Pace yourself when exercising or work-ing outdoors. Take breaks and cool off in the shade with water or sports drink. NO JULY MEETING

During the summer months we will be studying a Dr. Charles Stanley series on "Dealing with Damaged Emotions." This is a great study focusing on such issues as; anxiety, guilt and unforgiveness. These powerful emotions can impact your life in many physical , mental and emotional ways. Please come join us and continue to invite family or co-workers.

His Servants, Jimmy & Rhonda

Hot weather and summer are here! Water is crucial and as we visit the farm workers we will be carrying water bottles to distribute. Please watch the bulletin for dates and times and weather permitting we will continue to go out on a monthly basis. Most of all please continue to pray for the migrant workers and their families. Thanks! Jimmy & Rhonda
