Today officially marks the last day of the 17th Annual Summer Youth Swimming and

Water Safety Program. We’ve tried to make the last six weeks as eventful as possible and

create new experiences for all the participants. Before the swim program, many have never

done Zumba or yet alone cross the deep end of the pool harnessed on a rope! It was a first

time for many, but most were able to turn their fears into excitement. They’ve all created

friendships and shared a great amount of laughs while still being able to learn about the

dangers of drugs and alcohol, what to do to stay away from them, and how to stay healthy.

We’re all really happy to have worked with your children. The staff and I have

watched the participants really open up and be comfortable with the group. It has been a

great time spent together this summer and I hope

that everyone had a wonderful experience in this

year’s program! Lastly, thank you to the parents

and guardians for your support. We hope to see

you all again next year!

Thank you to all who have been a part of our 2012 Summer Swim and Safety Pro-

gram. Sadly this issue is the last of the summer and marks the end of our camp this year.

Within the past six weeks we have accomplished so many things with the participants.

From rock climbing, to cooking classes, to river crossing, and to swimming of course. It

was a great learning experience for the kids and it even taught us staff a thing or two.

It has been a great six weeks together and was definitely a great way for all of us to

enjoy the summer. Thank you once again to the parents, participants, and all the staff. We

hope to see you all again next year!!!

Whew! Six weeks have gone by, and

we’ve seen growth among our 5 to 8

year old kids. After understanding the

concept of POSITIVE ACTION, they

have learned more about good habits

and positive self-concept through our

daily activities. The scavenger hunt

taught them leadership and teamwork,

the cooking sessions taught them patience and sharing with their friends and

classmates, and the worksheets (which they loved doing!) helped them recog-

nize what are right and wrong things to do.

Positive action goes a long way! We encourage all

parents and family members to always recognize

the concept of positive actions with your kids at

home. Reward their little acts of kindness with

kudos — no need to spend money; simple words

or encour-

agement will do the trick! Watch your kids

grow to be individuals of strong morals

and values!

We enjoyed teaching your kids POSITIVE

ACTION! We hope to see you all again next

summer!
