Sustainability Training

Introduction▪ The National Inventory Management System (Beta) is used for Tier-

3 Level (plant specific) GHG Inventorying for India’s IPPU Sector to

fulfill its NATCOM reporting requirements to the United Nations

Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as part of its

Kyoto Protocol commitments.

▪ The methodologies employed by the tool to execute Tier-3 Level

‘real-time’ GHG Inventorying adhere to Tier 3 Methodologies

specified by the 2006 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

(IPCC) Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories.

▪ NIMS (India) was sponsored by The Ministry of Environment, Forest

and Climate Change (MOEFCC) and the Confederation of Indian

Industry (CII) and developed by cBalance Solutions Hub.

Sustainability Training

The data that the user submits for registered industry is sent to a secured web server

which assimilates the information and calculates the resultant GHG Emissions using

equations based on 2006 IPCC Guidelines for the IPPU Sector. The calculated Plant-level

footprint is displayed to the user in real-time.
