WelcomeWelcome Message
On behalf of the President of the University of Alberta, it is our pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 6th annual Sustainability Awareness Week. This event is brought to you by the Office of Sustainability and over 40 participating organizations.
The University of Alberta is committed to a continuous effort to instill sustainability into the many aspects of university life, on our campuses, in our institutions, and in the larger community of which we are part. Our commitment to improvement is captured in our sustainability plan.
Two of the most important things we can do to advance sustainability performance, both on and off campus, is to improve our knowledge and share ideas. Sustainability Awareness Week provides you with the opportunity to do both.
The week provides students, faculty, alumni, community groups, and campus organizations doezens of opportunities to interact, network and exchange ideas through seminars, tours, lectures and workshops addressing sustainability.
Each year, about 8,000 participants grow their knowledge and skills, and share ideas for advancing our institution’s performance. Please take time out of your schedule to join us. With a wide diversity of events, there’s sure to be more than one to capture your interest.
Enjoy SAW and thank you for building a sustainable future.
