The Start

After ending a technology engagement, Mr. Buford and Mr. Gupta went on a quest to

find the next big solution to develop. Not knowing what direction to go, they began to do extensive research on emerging industries and ways to apply advancing technologies.

The search seemed to be vague with mobile applications and social media concepts

being the innovation drivers during at the time. Mr. Buford knew he needed to find something quick due to the competitive business environment and the pressure to

maximize his expenses and secured business relationships in India. One day Mr. Buford received an inquiry about procuring access to human hair sourced in India. He didn't

know the value of the question until he spoke with his wife and learned about the high demand in the US for high quality human hair. There are many vendors in the business,

but many couldn't stay in business due to the inconsistency of quality hair and bad business practices in the industry overall. Continued research uncovered the prevalence

of high turnover in the human hair business. Mr. Buford called his partner, Mr. Gupta, to

inquire about the hair business in India and how to directly gain access to the source, in efforts to start importing hair into the United States. Mr. Gupta immediately began to

deepen his research efforts and performed proper due diligence to assess the potential

opportunity.

The Quest

Despite having a lack of experience in the human hair business, Mr. Gupta and Mr.

Buford relied on their relationships and began to realize how complex the business was on the manufacturing side and uncovered potential opportunities. Most of the

manufacturing was done by mom and pop shops with no proper automation and quality assurance processes which caused major problems with fulfilling customer needs and

operating under optimal business practices. India is known for sourcing raw material hair, but not for the processing and delivery of the hair. For many years if not centuries,

India has been the supreme source for raw human hair materials with China and Europe were their biggest buyers. With the ready access to the source China and Europe were

the ones who mastered the processing and logistics side of business operations taking

advantage of wide-ranging profit margins. Recently, about 10 years ago, the industry went into a different direction which caused a major lapse in the industry. The India and

China relationship degraded, and the Internet became the official source for buying raw human hair materials and customized finished products. The temples in India limited

external access to their buyer networks forcing participation via online auctions. This did not produce gold standard results, because there was a lack of control regarding overall

hair quality at this point. Due to high demands, China and Europe had to continue business by using other less qualified resources. The demand for human hair products

continues to grow with growing adoption in the entertainment and medical industries

opening a new emerging market.

The Opportunity

At this point it became obvious that the door of opportunity opened for Mr. Buford and

Mr. Gupta. They knew that China and Europe were experiencing issues on the backend with limited resources to good quality human hair. India produces the purest raw hair

materials per capita. There are 1.3 billion people in India with 1 million offerings per day

due to ancient morals and traditions. Mr. Gupta began to quickly develop relationships

Page 4: Supply Chain and Technology - Jebtal Imports

with key leaders in his country to pitch Mr. Buford's plan to develop processes to distribute high quality hair to the United States, and around the globe. Mr. Buford knew

he had key relationships in the entertainment and medical industries, which will allow him to quickly gather the right team to scale operations and enable an effective

marketing strategy within the entertainment industry which then reach the masses. Mr. Gupta and Mr. Buford were able to form a partnership with a local manufacturer in AP,

India. Part of the deal is to enable local community workers and help build their local infrastructure. Mr. Buford is determined to create effective business processes, hire the

right team, and have the right plan to scale production with the highest quality stamp of

approval.

The Journey

The Founders embarked on an arduous two-year journey building operations and

conducting multiple rounds of research and development. Along the process Mr. Buford adopted the practices of Hinduism and travels to India consistently working with Mr.

Gupta to establish key relationships with important leaders in the human hair raw

material business. Mr. Gupta acts as a teacher to Mr. Buford showing him the nuances of the Indian culture and explaining the moral values of Indian people. This long journey

produced the most valuable business relationship for both founders, the main temple of India…The Tirupati Temple. Mr. Buford and Mr. Gupta now work directly with the officers

of the temple who control and work with all temples who participate in the sourcing of all

human hair in the country.

The Hair

India hair has a long history of being the best hair on the market. It comes from single

donors where 80% of them don't eat meat and live a highly organic herbal lifestyle. In the southern regions of the country, where the company sources most of the hair, high

temperatures ranging from 105 - 120 degrees Fahrenheit gives the Indian people a great luster of hair making it soft and shiny. Currently, Indian hair is sought after all
