late” choice to honor a well-deserving grad-uate on Jan. 27, when the Immaculate Con-ception School’s Development Committeehosted its 18th annual Distinguished Grad-uate Award Dinner at Lenzi’s.
More than 140 joyful family, friends,alumni, parish and school memberscame out in full force to support andhonor Mary Margaret Barrett, ICS Classof 1981. Mary is the daughter of lifelongLowellians Richard and Joan (Gorman)Barrett, and grew up in Lowell’s Immac-ulate Conception Parish along with hersiblings, Richard, Catherine, Daniel andMartha. She spent 20-plus years in the
finance sector. Not only does Mary exudeintelligence and dedication, she also hasa great passion for her community. She iscurrently a board member of the LowellAssociation for the Blind, a former boardmember of the Academy of Notre Damein Tyngsboro, where she graduated withthe Class of 1985, and was a member ofICS Development Committee.
Mary’s interests include supportingThe Brush Art Gallery in Lowell, the Low-ell Humane Society, for her abiding lovefor animals, and many of Lowell’s othercultural and educational organizations.
