A “Wilds” Morning at the VMC

Before: After:

The Wilds family recently enjoyed an early morning at the Volunteer Ministry Center serving breakfast to our neighbors in need.

Welcome Back to UT

Pictured here: Larry Russell and Eric Haralson at the grill,

Members of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew were on hand at Tyson House, the Episcopal and Lutheran campus ministry, cooking up burgers (veggie, too) and dogs to give away to students moving in for the fall semester.

Another Successful Men’s Conference The men of St. John’s had the strongest attendance of any large parish in the Diocese of East Tennessee and Holy Smokin’ took 2nd place for their rib sauce. Charles Craven had a busy weekend serving as the President Elect of the Episcopal Churchmen of Tennessee. “Next year we hope to double our numbers;” said attendee Matt Carr, “if you go one time, you’ll likely go again.”

A Gift from You to Second Harvest Dear John and all at Saint John’s Cathedral,

In the old days, I would send a thank you note by snail mail but I thought you might want us to save the 46 cents and send a thank you email.

Second Harvest Food Bank is truly indebted to the congregation of Saint John’s for the $8,128.51 gift. We are so grateful and honored for your commitment to helping us feed the needy in our 18 county service area.

Many thanks.

Elaine Streno Executive Director Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee

Cookie Crew Volunteers Needed Each Sunday after the 10:30 Eucharist someone from the parish family provides and serves 12 dozen cookies or small pastries in the Great Hall. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow

parishioners and greet visitors. We are running short on participants for this important ministry. Whether you bake the goodies yourselves or pick them up at your favorite grocery or bakery does not matter. To sign up for an upcoming Sunday, please contact Patsy Boyce, [email protected] or 577-2547.
