Get To Know Emilie... Your New Events and Wellness Coordinator!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Emilie, and I am originally from Grottoes, Virginia. After attending college at Liberty University as a Health Promotion major, I moved back to the Valley (my roots) in 2014. I have been in the senior living industry for close to 10 years. In 2010, I was presented with a volunteer opportunity at a local nursing/ health and rehab center in Lynchburg, which eventually led to a job offer in the Activities Department. After discovering my love and heart for senior living, I have worked in 2 other senior living communities in the department of Life Enrichment. On a personal note, some of my hobbies include cooking and running. I also enjoy playing music with my fiancé in our free time. He plays the guitar, so sometimes I like to sing or play (piano) with him. We are planning to get married this Fall, which is keeping me quite busy with all the planning and coordinating! We are over the moon. I am absolutely thrilled to be starting a new chapter here with you at Summit Square Retirement Community. I very much look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.

From landmarks to news anchors and neighborhoods to online communities; this annual groundswell unites millions of people for a common goal: the eradication of heart disease and stroke.

Get To

Know Chaplain

David!

It is with great pleasure that I come to join the Summit Square Retirement Community as your pastor and

chaplain. I know that it will be hard to live up to the standard that Jenny set but I join Anna and Emilie in

serving social, emotional, and spiritual needs. Clearly we all come at our duties here with the spirit of a servant. It is a privilege to serve under Brian as our leader.

As way of introduction, I am a recorded (ordained) Friends (Quaker) minister but have in recent years attended the United Methodist churches that my wife Linda is

pastoring. She presently is serving as ordained elder at Main St. UMC. Linda and I have three children all in their 30’s.

I am excited about the religious programs that are a part of Summit Square. I would like to highlight two of them. The Tuesday morning bible study meets at 10 AM and

we will begin a new study for Lent entitled, “The Merciful Humility of God,” by Jane Williams. We will look at the biblical narrative or story and see how God’s merciful

humility is the source of life. Secondly, you are invited to our Ash Wednesday service on the 26th of February at 10:30

AM in the Gallery. I consider it a blessing to walk alongside you as your chaplain.
