Subtotal Function

Returns a subtotal in a list or database. Subtotals can be insert automatically into sorted data using the Subtotal

grou on the !ata tab in "#cel $%%& and 'rom the !ata Menu in earlier versions o' "#cel.

Function num is the number 1 to 11 ,includes hidden values or 1%1 to 111 ,ignores hidden values that seci/e

calculating subtotals within a list.

Inserting Subtotals

The subtotal dialog bo# is shown to the right. The /rst otion allows you to choose the /eld

on which you wish to base your subtotal. *t each change in( means that every time there

is a change in the data- a subtotal will be inserted. Ma=e sure you sort be'ore subtotaling.

>our rimary sort and *t each change in( choice should be the same column heading.

The second otion allows you to choose the 'unction you wish subtotal to insert.

The *dd subtotal to( section allows you to chec= the /elds to which you wish to aly that

subtotal.

By de'ault- Relace current subtotals and Summary below data will be chec=ed.

Remove the chec=mar= 'rom Relace current data to add a second subtotal to data that

already contains a subtotal.

Remove the chec= 'rom Summary below data to have the Summary aear above data.

Chec= 9age brea= between grous to have each subtotal section rint on a diferent age.
