    Times Square is a major intersectionin the Big Apple, New York City.

    It contains a plethora of glittering

    neon signs, plenty of bright yellowtaxi cabs, hundreds of shops andmillions of pedestrians each day.

    It is one of the most action packedstreetscapes in the world illuminatedby lights and advertising.

    It stands as the iconic representationfor western pop culture.

    #2 Hachiko Crossing in Shibuya,Tokyo, Japan

    The Hachiko pedestrian crossing inthe Shibuya district of Tokyo is the

    busiest pedestrian crossing in theworld.

    Shibuya began to emerge as a railwayterminal for southwestern Tokyo andeventually as a major commercial andentertainment center.

    Shibuya is famous for its scramble

    crossing. It is located in front of theShibuya Station Hachiko exit andstops vehicles in all directions toallow pedestrians to inundate theentire intersection.

    Three large TV screens mounted onnearby buildings overlook thecrossing.

    Name after the Elysian Fields a placeof the sacred in Greek mythology, the

    Avenue des Champs-lyses is themost prestigious avenue in the world.Decorated with quaint cafs,luxurious hotels and specialty shops.In its short 2km stretch it's wide openstreetscape stares directly at the Arcde Triomphe. During the Christmas

    Season the Avenue des Champs-lyses is decorated from top tobottom. Known in France as La plusbelle avenue du monde, The mostbeautiful avenues in the world, itremains one of the most expensivestrips of real estate in Europe.

    #5 Magnificent Mile, Chicago,USA

    The magnificent mile is one of NorthAmerica's greatest shopping streets. It

    runs along Michigan Ave through theheart of Chicago.

    It is also the sitting ground for many ofthe most architectural marvels builtthroughout the 20th century.

    It extends from the lovely ChicagoRiver to "the loop", a major business

    district. It host a lovely boulevard and wide

    sidewalks, which host lovelyrestaurants, exquisite hotels and shopsand some of the tallest buildings in theworld.

    A number of prestigious buildings are

    located along the Magnificent Mile,such as the John Hancock Center andthe historic Tribune Tower.

    Although there is a wall of buildingsthat surround you along this stretch ofstreet you will never feelclaustrophobic because of the design,

    wide side walks and inviting buildingbases.

    Nanjing is the main shopping strip inShanghai, China. Nanjing Road has

    been a centre of retail commerce inShanghai for more than a hundredyears.

    It is a glitter of neon signs and isflourishing with pedestrians.

    A subway line runs along Nanjing.

    One of London's most interestingstreets and squares, the circus (from

    the Latin word meaning circle, whichrefers to the circular open space at astreet junction) is a shopping andtourist hub.

    Like Times Square, the Circus isknown for its video display and neonsigns.

    Also red coloured phone boots anddouble-decker buses decorates thestreetscapesk.

    The area is linked to several touristattractions and theatres making it aworthy street to enjoy just by sittingand observing.
