THE TRUE RELIGION HAS EXISTEDSINCE THE BEGINNING OF HISTORY

Another error of those who promote the deception that history and societyevolved is the claim that religion, one of societys highest values, also evolved. Thisclaim was put forth in the 19th century and was avidly defended by materialists and

atheists. But there are no archeological findings to justify it and it remains in the realmof speculation.

There is no support for the claim that human beings in earlier ages believed inprimitive, tribal deities and that true religion, the religion revealed by God to the wholeof humanity since the time of Adam and based on the belief in one God came into

being later. Some evolutionists assume that this claim has been proven as an historicalfact but they are greatly mistaken. Just as Darwins theory of biological evolution is adeception, so is the theory of the evolution of religion that takes its inspiration fromhim.

How Did the Error of the Evolution of ReligionsCome About?

About a century ago, when DarwinsOrigin of Species was still in its first edition,the idea of evolution gained support amongmaterialists and atheists. Some thinkers of that

period thought that every event in the humansphere could be explained by evolution. This

error states that everything began from a basic, primitive stage and advanced toperfection.

This error was applied in many areas.For example, in the field of Economics,Marxism claimed that such advancement wasinevitable and that everyone would eventuallyadopt communism. Experience has shown thatthis was only a dream and Marxisms claimsdid not reflect reality.

In the field of Psychology, Freud saidthat human beings were a highly evolved species but psychologically their actions aremotivated by their primitive ancestors. This major error has been scientifically refuted

by psychological research. It was shown that the basic supposition of Freudianism hadno scientific foundation.

In the same way, the fields of Sociology, Anthropology and History have beenaffected by the Theory of Evolution, but knowledge gained from discoveries in the lastcentury have shown this influence to be negative.

The common feature of all these evolutionary theories is that they are opposedto belief in God. This is the philosophical basis of the mistaken idea of the evolution ofreligion. According to the false claims of Herbert Spencer, a leading proponent of thiserror, primitive human beings had no religion. The first religions supposedly beganwith the worship of the dead. Other anthropologists that support the deception of theevolution of religion propose different accounts. Some say that religion has its sourcein animism (the attribution of life and spirit to nature); others think that religion camefrom totemism (the worship of a symbolic person, group or object). Anotheranthropologist, E.B. Taylor, believes that religion developed through history fromanimism (the attribution of life to nature), to manism (ancestor-worship), polytheism(the belief in many gods) and ending in monotheism (the belief in one God).

This theory was put forward in the 19th century by atheist anthropologists and, presented in various scenarios, it has been kept alive every since. But it is nothingmore than a deception. As archeological and historical evidence has shown, contrary towhat these scientists have proposed, there was from earliest times a monotheistreligion that God revealed to humanity through his prophets. But at the same time therehave always been deviant, superstitious beliefs coexisting with monotheism. Just astoday there are people who believe that God is the One and Only deity and lead theirlives according to the religion He has revealed, there are also those who are in error,worshipping idols of wood and stone, Satan, ancestors as well as various spirits,animals, the sun, the moon and the stars. And many of these people are not backward;on the contrary they are very advanced.

There have also been those throughout history who have not obeyed the precepts of the monotheist religions revealed by God and tried to eliminate moralvalues. The Quran tells us of various individuals who wanted to include superstitious

beliefs and practices in religion and ended up altering and destroying the true religionrevealed to them.

Woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say This isfrom God to sell it for a paltry price. Woe to them for what their handshave written! Woe to them for what they earn! (Quran, 2:79)

This is the reason why some people who believed in the existence and unity ofGod and obeyed His commands abandoned true religion in the course of time andespoused deviant beliefs and practices. In this way, deviant beliefs and practices came

into being. In other words, contrary to what some have proposed, there has never beena process of religious evolution; but true religion was at certain times distorted anreplaced by deviant religions.
