After the Burning of our MortgageWhat is Next for the Building Fund?

By the way of history, in June 1999 the Churchborrowed $815,000 to construct Fellowship Hall. Themortgage was 16 years and was scheduled to be paid off in June 2015. Through our faithfulness, good stewardshipand, of course, Gods blessing we were able to pay off the mortgage nearly three years early, saving a substantialamount in interest.

As we celebrate this great accomplishment, we need toremember that we still have a second mortgage that mustbe paid. In June 2010, the Church borrowed $310,000 torenovate and finish the youth area and basement among

other improvements. The current balance on themortgage is approximately $290,000. This mortgage isscheduled to be paid off in June 2026. ESSA has recentlyindicated that it is willing to reduce the interest rate onthe mortgage from 6% to 4.625% while keeping all otherterms the same.

We are asking that everyone continue to remainfaithful in your giving and continue to utilize the BuildingFund o ption on your weekly envelope. With yourcontinued giving each week, we hope to also pay off thismortgage early. The Steering Team has set a goal of paying this mortgage off in 7 years, which will require amonthly payment of $3,882. This will again save a greatdeal in interest, money that can be used for programmingand furthering our mission. If you have any questions, please see our Lay Leader Jeff Durney or call the churchoffice at 421-3280.
