Report St.Anne’s First grade college Department of kannada conduct kannada
competitions for the Kannada students regarding interclass competition on 2nd August
2018 in room D-13.Kannada Proverb competition, kannada pick and speak competition,
kannada quiz competition, kannada essay writing competition, kannada janapadha group
singing competition were held.
In kannada proverb competition : Laveena of III B.com ‘B’ won the 1st prize.Lavanya of II
B.com ‘C’ won the 2nd prize. Puneetha of I BBA and Nandhini.C of I B.com ‘B’ won the 3rd
prize. In kannada pick and speak competition : Laveena of III B.com ‘B’ won the 1st prize.
Achala of III B.com ‘B’ won the 2nd prize. Josphin Maria Tresa of III B.com ‘B’ won the 3rd
prize. In kannada quiz competition : Gomathi and group of I B.com ‘B’ won the 1st
prize.Pavithra and group of II B.com ‘C’ won the 2nd prize. Vasanthi and group of III B.com
‘C’ won the 3rd prize. In kannada essay writing competition : Shilpa.H.P of I B.com ‘C’ won
the 1st prize. Shree Vidya of II BBA won the 2nd prize. Mallamma.S of I Bsc and Leema Raj
of I B.com ‘B’ won the 3rd prize. In kannada janapadha group singing : Maha Lakshmi and
group of II B.com “B’ won the 1st prize. Lakshmi and group of I B.com ‘B’ won the 2nd prize.
Kavya and group of I B.com ‘C’ won the 3rd prize.
For all these competitions Dr.D.Bharath [HOD and lecturer] and Dr.K.C.Munikrishnappa
[lecturer] were judges.

#2 , millers road , Bangalore -52 DEPARTMENT OF KANNADA HISTORICAL TRIP 2018-19 To Maddur, Srirangapatana and Mysore
Report
As a part of the historical visit the language department of St.Anne’s FGC for
women organized a one day trip to maddur , Srirangapatana and Mysore on
6th October 2018. This was an initiative by the language club to bring students
close to the field experience as the knowledge was only theoretical. The main
focus of the trip was to show the students about the importance of
independence movement, relate the visit of place with the syllabus and as
when enrich the students with the historical monument present in a vicinity.
One of the warrior been Tippu Sultan and the place was the right choice to
show the history of Tippu Sultan. The pride of Karnataka the Mysore place
and the history of Wodayar’s. This is the 3rd year of our journey so we decided
to cover majority of places in less time.
As planned scheduled the students willing to join the trip assembled in the
college campus. With three of language faculty and 2 faculty from commerce
and psychology accompanied our journey. This time the count of students
were double in number. The place was full of historical importance we could
get more information about the place as well interacted with localities to get
some awareness of the place importance. Based on that we could sketch the
geographical and history of that place, and students could relate their
theoretical syllabus knowledge to the practical exposure. It was really an
amazing experience for the students.
With the starting point of our plan we covered sathyagraha bhavana at
Maddur, which stands on the highway itself. This was the place were in
Gandhiji’s Sathyagraha movement was in actively moved by the freedom
fighters of this region. We could see some of the pictures of Gandhiji and his
principles were showcased on the walls.
Our next destination was the historical city Mysore. The students were
allowed to have a wholesome experience of the place and the city. There are 7
places around the city but we could cover only 2 places. The place
construction was started in the year 1897 and finished in the year 1912. The
students had a enriching experience of kingship lifestyle by looking through
the displays placed in the palace. There were variety of things like the
furniture’s they used, clothes, utensils, weapons etc..,
After lunch according to the last year trip visit, the students witnessed the
fort of srirangapatanam. There after the students were taken to Bhandikhana
which means jail for the prisoners. Thereon we saw the last death place were
Tippu’s body was found.
Our next visit was to palace and museum. It was a knowledge full
experience for the students to have live view of the architecture and design of
the srirangapatanam model. The students viewed many royal things used by
the kings like coins, guns, clothes etc..,
End of the day on the whole the students had a great experience of one day
educational trip and practically they could relate their knowledge experience.
It was a memorable journey experience.

1. Five faculty members
2. 92 students from all the streams.

KANNADA UTSAVA REPORT
2018-2019
On the 8th February 2019 Department of kannada club ‘BELAKU’
CONDUCTED ‘KANNADA UTSAVA’ in the college campus. Rev. Sr. Maggie, Mrs.
Brinda (HOD English), Mrs. Indhumathi (HOD Hindi), Dr. D. Bharath (HOD
Kannada) inaugurated kannada utsava by lightening the lamp. Dr. K. C.
Munikrishnappa (kannada lecturer) was present at that time and he held
kannada quiz program for the kannada students. One group dance program
was given by kannada students.
In kannada quiz 4 groups took the participation among this Likitha and
group (3rd B.com B), Harshitha and group (2nd B.com C) and Geethanjali and
group (2nd BBA) secured 1st 2nd and 3rd prize.

Department of Kannada VIDEO SHOW
REPORT 2018-19
On 12th February 2019 Department of Kannada arranged a special video
show for 1 B.com ‘C’ students about “SHUDRA”(untouchables). This show is to
create awareness among students about caste exploitation in India. One of the
poems named ‘KAVACHA’ is based on untouchability; regarding to this the
video show was arranged to Dr.Munikrishnappa accompanied students.
Department of Kannada arranged a special video show for 1 B.sc students
about Jen Gudel research about Chimpanzees. This show is to create
awareness among students about Jen Gudel as it is one of the parts of a lesson
to them; this show is arranged. Dr.K.C.Munikrishnappa accompanied with the
students in D-21.

Department Of Kannada Performing Arts Report 2018-2019
The department of kannada on 25th February 2019 from the
students of I BBA organized an art performance Enact of a mini
scene about ‘Pandu –Maadri’. This was based on their kannada text
syllabus ‘Pandu-Maadriyara Prasanaga’ Poem by the 15th Century
poet Kumaravyasa.
Dr.K. C.Munikrishnappa accompanied with the students.

DEPARTMENT OF KANNADA HUMANITIES FEST 2018-2019
REPORT On 26th February Humanity Fest Was Organized By The
Department Of Kannada, English, Hindi, Psychology & Journalism of
St. Annes College. Regarding to This Department Of Kannada Model
Making Exhibition From The Students In Room D-20
Mrs. Nabila Ruhi & Mrs. Hifsa Hasmath (Department Of
Commerce) Judged the Chart Exhibition & Model Exhibition.
EPOCH ARTY FACT- 2018-2019
Department: BELAKU Kannada Club
REPORT St.Anne’s First Grade College for women conducted inter-collegiate
competition for the students on 20th March 2019. In this Epoch Arty Fact-2019
BELAKU Kannada department also conducted Kannada Vachana Vistara,
Bhavageethe solo singing and Kannada Gaade vistarane competition for the
students. These competitions were held in D-24. Eight students from various
colleges participated. Nishmitha.M (Vagdevi Vilasa College) secured 1st prize,
Sangeetha.S (St. Anne’s FGCW) secured 2nd prize and Devananda.I (RBANMS
College) secured 3rd prize for Gaade vistharane. Achala.C (St. Anne’s FGCW)
secured 1st prize, Bhavya B.S (Vagdhevi Vilasa College) secured 2nd prize and
Nishmitha.M (Vagdhevi Vilasa College) secured 3rd prize for Vachana Visthara.
After this, in Kannada Bhavageethe solo singing competition nine
students from various colleges participated. In this Sneha Sri Varshini (MCC)
secured 1st prize, Abhishek V G (Sheshadripuram College) secured 2nd prize
and Jahnavi (M S Ramaiah College) secured 3rd prize
Dr.Shivamallu, Prof. in Kannada, APS Arts Science and Commerce evening
college judged the programmes. Dr.D.Bharath and Dr.K.C. Munikrishnappa of
Kannada faculty were presented in these competitions.
