The year and the place of birth

He was born on the 12th of September 1921 in Lviv, a Polish writer of science, fiction, philosophy and satire. He was named a Knight of the Order of the White Eagle.

First published in English in 1974.

America 1976 – State Prize 1st Level in the area of literature 1979 – Grand Prix de Litterature Policiere for his novel Katar. A minor planet, 3836 Lem, discovered by Soviet astronomer Nikolaj Stepanovich Chernykh in 1979, is named after
