The tickets for the annual 5 Car Raffle have been mailed. This is the same raffle that we have partici-pated in for the last number of years. You will no-tice that the ticket returns are being processed at All Saints this year. This is a requirement of the Department of Charitable Gaming. The car raffle continues to benefit our parish and many other charitable causes throughout the diocese, as it has in the past.

RE Program 2020-2021: RE classes (Grades 1-7): We are now in full swing into our 2nd semester as of 01/17/2021. Online course work continues and weekly submission of assigned activity pages should continue in a timely manner, but we have added the following: BIG NEWS: We have watched over the course of the school year the success of our St. William of York School and their reintegration plan. Based upon their results the RE office feels that it is time for us to do the same for our students. To-day 2/14/2021, we have no classes because of the holiday. We are back in the classroom on 2/21/2021 for all those families who wish to come. Those families who do not wish to come back into the classroom will continue the online coursework at home keeping with all current re-quirements. Those families coming back into the classroom will have the added benefit of in-person instruc-tion/review by their assigned Catechist. Either way, learning about the Faith continues and the RE office will be here to assist in any way that we can. Attending Mass: As dispensation to attend Mass is still in effect per Bishop Burbidge, and if medical conditions prevent you from attending Sunday Mass in person, we ask that families attend Mass via live streaming regular-ly. There has been a second vigil Mass added to the schedule at 4:00 PM and *(new time change to the original 5:00 PM which will now be at 5:30 PM)*. We are seeing more and more parishioners coming back to church which accounts for the add-ed Mass and we have the church staff and ushers to thank for implementing strict cleaning procedures regularly to keep us all safe while allowing us to attend Mass in person. So, if you are adventurous, please consider going on to the website and reserve your spot for the Mass of your choice and join us in communion with our Lord. We will continue to post information to the parish website @ SWOYCC.ORG about the program along with emails and other forms of communica-tions to keep you up to date on all requirements and meetings. God Bless each of you and your loved ones, espe-cially during these trying times.

We ask for your continued prayers.

Over 25 Years of Authentic Catholic Education

School News “The truth is like a lion. You don’t

have to defend it. Let it loose. It will defend itself.” – St. Augustine

This month, our students are focusing on the Virtue of Honesty. Our students are learning

that honesty is being trustworthy and true.

On January 29th, all of our students participated in a Day of Prayer reflecting on our Respect for

Life. While not able to have a school wide March for Life, many of our classes had their own

March for Life. Our older students participated in one of the many Virtual Rallies and attended a

virtual Respect Life Mass. Our entire school community prayed the Rosary together, virtually,

to reflect on the beauty of all life.

Are you interested in enrolling for the 2021-2022 school year? We are now accepting applications for

any new family that is interested in an authentic Catholic education for their child. While most of our

classes already have a waitlist, we will walk you through the process of adding your child to our list.

All application materials are online at the www.stwillschool.org. If you would like more

information, please contact Mrs. Schiller ([email protected]).

Prayer Request Please keep everyone who is serving in Iraq and Afghan-istan and their family members in your prayers.

Michael Harrison, Jason Locke, Orlando Medina, Patrick Mooney II, Andrew Rodriguez, Andrew Sines, Jonathan Sines, and Josh Taylor.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.

If you have a relative serving in Iraq or Afghanistan and would like to have his/her name included in our prayer list, please contact the parish office.

Fasting and Abstinence On Ash Wednesday and every Friday during Lent, eve-ryone over 14 years of age is bound to observe the law of abstinence (no meat). Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, everyone, 18 & up, to the beginning of their 60th year, is also bound to observe the law of fasting. On these two days only one full, meatless meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Ash Wednesday & Good Friday, therefore, are the only days of both fasting and abstinence.

Baptism Classes The next Baptism Preparation Class in English will be held on Wednesday, February 24th at 7:30 PM in the Brent Room. The next Baptismal Preparation Class in Spanish will be held on Saturday, March 13th at 8:30 AM in the Brent Room. It is mandatory that all parents register with the parish office (540) 659-1102 before the class.

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time First Reading: Leviticus 13:1-2, 44-46 The Lord tells Moses and Aaron that anyone bearing the sore of leprosy must first be seen by Aaron or one of the other priests, and that as long as the sore is upon him, “He shall dwell apart, making his abode outside the camp.”

Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:31—11:1 Paul instructs the Corinthians to do everything for the glory of God, to avoid offending others, and to be imita-tors of Christ.

Gospel: Mark 1:40-45 Jesus takes pity on a leper and cures him of his disease with a warning not to say but to show himself to the priest and make an offering. Instead of remaining silent, the leper greatly publicized the healing, making it impos-sible for Jesus to enter the town openly.

Our support of this collection helps build the Church in African American, Native American, and Alaska Native communities from coast to coast.
