The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ June 22, 2014
Not by bread alone does one live,
but by every word that comes forth
from the mouth of the LORD. — Deuteronomy 8:3b
AMEN Take a look around the walls of your church. Even if it‘s
only a year or two old, the word ―Amen‖ has resounded
off those walls countless times at the conclusion of the
Eucharistic Prayer and as the faithful have come forward
to receive the Body and Blood of Christ. Today‘s feast is
about those ―Amens‖ offered in faith, offered in times of
trouble or doubt, spoken in joy, spoken mindlessly, but all
given to God in a multitude of ways. It is our very lives
that lie behind our ―Amens‖ and are touched by the pres-
ence of Christ, the presence we celebrate today. More im-
portantly, we celebrate the love of Christ for us shown in
the sacrifice on Calvary and that he continues to give to us
in every celebration of the Eucharist. What can we do but
rejoice in that great love, and then go out into the world
and live that love in sacrificing for others? Copyright © J. S.

welcome new and old members. We will begin meetings
again in September.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL AUXILIARY Thank you for your food and monetary donations.
Without your generosity, we could not do this
job. Our weekly packing of 20 bags continues
needing: pasta sauce, pasta, tuna, Spam, peanut
butter, jelly, stew, soup, crackers, chili, baked
beans, boxed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. We are so
grateful for your continued support! Bless you all!
PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION Next week our diocese will take up the Peter‘s Pence
Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the funds
he needs to carry out his charitable works around the world.

AKRON MARATHON CHARITY PARTNER 27 September 2014 7:00 a.m. -Catholic Charities
Community Services/Summit County is a 2014 Blue
Line Charity Partner for the Akron Marathon. Runners
and volunteers are encouraged to sign up for the
marathon on behalf of Catholic Charities. Catholic
Charities is asking for support in recruiting runners,
volunteers, and donors. Consider getting involved to help
make a difference. You can run the full or 1/2 marathon,
run a leg of the relay on a team with 4 other runners or
sign up to volunteer. Run on Behalf of Catholic
Charities: There is no obligation other than saying you
wish to run under our organization's name. Relay teams
count as well...get your team together today! Already
signed up for the marathon? No problem. You can still
run on behalf of Catholic Charities. Volunteer on Behalf
of Catholic Charities: Volunteer to assist at the
Marathon on behalf of Catholic Charities. Many
volunteer opportunities available. Why Help? All
proceeds from this event will go to help fund
camperships to Camp Christopher. Each year, Camp
Christopher welcomes thousands of campers through its
front gates, each with his or her own story, hopes, and
dreams. But did you know that a week at Camp
Christopher would not be possible for many children
without the help of the Camp Christopher Campership
Fund? The recent economy continues to drive up the
number of applications for camperships. The need for
campership funds has never been greater. To register to
run or volunteer, please call or e-mail Kelly Kaufman @

we could use a few people to help volunteer at the Center
