On behalf of our students, our faculty, our staff and our clergy, I extend a sincere thank you for your unwavering support this year.

The Annual Report provides you with a glimpse of the collective efforts of our constituencies; Vestry, Board of Trustees, parents, faculty, staff, parishioners, alumni and friends of St. Stephen’s. We made great strides this year with the sharing of everyone’s time, talent and treasure.

We reached our goal of 100% participation in our Annual Giving Campaign for our 6th consecutive year, another astounding feat in the history of St. Stephen’s. We also had remarkable results from all School and Home Association fundraising efforts with contributions to the school totaling $319,728.

With the incredible generosity of many of our families, our Unveiling the Genius Within Campaign is over $4.3M. We want you to join us in reaching our goal of $5M. I know we can do it!

The strength in community that continues to permeate our grounds is the anchor that allows us to be the best we can be for our beloved students!

The greatest strength of our community continues to be you! The Board of Trustee thanks every single family for reaching deep and giving generously. This has been a pivotal year in moving forward the vision of St Stephen’s Episcopal Day School. Our families demonstrated their commitment to St Stephen’s; not just for today, but for many generations of children that will follow. The school has been able to move forward as per our strategic plan because of the commitment from many of you in this first year of fundraising for the capital campaign. You have truly given the greatest gift to an amazing institution.

The strength of an independent school is the bringing together of an extraordinary administration, faculty and staff along with the trust given by parents who believe in that institution. St Stephen’s Episcopal Day School is truly blessed to have both, and this is apparent every single day as one walks on campus. Our little school by the bay is energized as it continues to be a leader in educating for the future unveiling the genius within each student with the goal of achieving a true global citizen.

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School operates solely on tuition and fees for basic expenses such as personnel, cafeteria, academic after school expenses, facilities, operations and depreciation. Additional expenses and programs are funded by dollars donated through the Annual Fund and the School and Home Association.

School and Home AssociationDear Parents,

School and Home would like to thank all families for their continuous support. You make all of the School and Home activities and initiatives possible with your hard work and financial support. As a result, our children, parents, faculty and staff enjoy wonderful events that inform and unite our community while providing for financial support for the school and those in need around us. This commitment is what makes SSEDS such a special place.

The School and Home with the help of parent volunteers, worked hard in organizing and implementing all of this year’s initiatives. Our children had a blast at Carnival and enjoyed the activities at Field Day. Everyone enjoyed the book fair and the funds raised supported our efforts with

Helping Hands. The Gala (Night at Coachella) was very successful financially, while bringing our community closer than ever before.

The staff and teachers felt very special this year as a result of the contributions and events organized for them, such as teacher breakfasts, Teacher Appreciation Week and the very successful Christmas Fund. Year-long committees such as Library, Green SSEDS and Yearbook continually support our school and our Student and Parent Assemblies provide our SSEDS community the ability to stay current on relevant issues that affect our children’s lives. The topics presented in the Assemblies this year were extremely interesting and informative.

This year, School and Home’s Helping Hands program flourished. The specific curriculum provides every student an opportunity to “give back” to the community through specific projects as well as respond to emergency situations where people are in need. Thanks to this program, SSEDS is helping others in our community and our children are a key part of that process.

It has truly been an honor to serve you as School and Home President these past two years. I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing community and thank you for your kindness and dedication to the school.

A Message from the Gala Co-Chairs

The theme for the gala was “A Night at Coachella,” a casual evening of music, fun, and friendship. Parents, faculty, and staff mingled, sang, danced and celebrated under the stars at The Wynwood Yard. The sense of unity and shared commitment to our school was palpable. Thank you to everyone for their time, talent, and donations which made this year’s fundraiser such a memorable event. We were overhwelmed by the generosity of our St. Stephen’s community. We cannot thank you enough for the privilege of being your co-chairs this year. It was an honor and a pleasure.
