Archdiocese for the Military Services Next week our parish will take up the Collection for the

Archdiocese for the Military Services. (AMS). The guiding mission of the AMS is to provide the sacraments—and the re-affirming Word of Christ—to the men and women serving in our armed forces, patients in VA Medical Centers, civilians working for the federal government beyond US borders, and the families of these populations. To

provide these services they need your help—the AMS receives no federal funding.

Maker Fun Factory VBS We’re gathering gear for Maker Fun Factory VBS and we need your help! In order for Vacation Bible School to be the success that it is, we need all hands on deck, and we greatly appreciate anything you can do to help! Check the VBS Gear Boards in the narthex and pick up a ticket for an item or two.

Bring those items back to church next week and drop them off at the office. Maker Fun Factory VBS will be held July 17th-21st. We appreciate your generosity and support to our parish and the children in our religious education program!

Weekend Humor A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote 'Revelation 3:20' on the back of it and stuck it in the door. When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, 'Genesis 3:10.' Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock.' Genesis 3:10 reads, 'I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked.'

Bible Institute Blessed Trinity Shrine Retreat, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama is offering a Bible Institute entitled “He came to Teach and Heal” on July 21-23, 2017. Jesus came to teach and heal; disciples were called to do the same. We will make a careful, meditative consideration of chapters 4:23-9:35 in Matthew. This course is designed to know how to read the Gospel according to Matthew. We will use the best principles of narrative criticism. This weekend is for beginners or the best of bible readers.
