General Information ORGANISED SHORE EXCURSIONSBooking Direct with Silversea gives you peace of mind. Our local tour operators are fully insured and have been comprehensively vetted. Inthe unlikely event of issues with a Silversea tour, we assume responsibility and the ship will wait for our delayed shore excursion. These areimportant factors when comparing value. Looking for a special program with your travelling companions? In a nod to our Italian heritage,let us reserve for you our Silver Shore “Privato” service - a private vehicle with driver and/or guide. Create your own itinerary or leave it tous. This service is available in most ports which you can reserve on MySilversea (my.silversea.com) or at the Shore Concierge desk onboardfor a truly tailor-made arrangement. Please bear in mind as we traverse many far reaching destinations, the local infrastructure varies and isbeyond our control. Road conditions and vehicles available locally may not be up to standards we are accustomed to. Guides and driversmay speak with a heavy accent at times depending on the port of call. Be assured however that at Silversea, we contract only the best toursand best operators available at each destination. Please Note: Silversea reserves the right to make any changes or modify a tour in case ofunforeseen circumstances and/or to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. BOOKING & CANCELLATION DEADLINESShore excursions must be purchased on or before the booking deadline for each port of call. Tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis; some tours are very popular with guests often ending up being wait-listed: in order to avoid disappointment, it is thereforesuggested to book in advance via my.silversea.com from 120 - 7 days prior to sailing. Last-minute requests to participate on excursions aresubject to space availability, which in some cases may not be determined until departure time pier-side. Please note that certain shoreexcursions may have different reservation deadlines and may incur cancellation fees if cancelled after the deadline. Unless otherwiseindicated in the tour description for a particular shore excursion a 100% cancellation fee will be charged for shore excursions cancelledwithin 48 hours of the scheduled start time. If changes or cancellations are required once onboard, tickets must be returned to the ShoreConcierge desk within the cancellation deadline period. ONLINE ADVANCE RESERVATION OF SHORE EXCURSIONSFor those of you that are not aware, at Silversea you can pre-reserve your excursions at leisure prior to your journey on the internet, log onto MySilversea (my.silversea.com) up to 7 days prior to your sailing date. If you have pre-reserved your excursions on line, your tickets willbe delivered to your suite upon embarkation and all charges will be billed to your shipboard account. ON BOARD RESERVATIONSOnce on board, you may also reserve and purchase your shore excursions. You will find a consolidated tour booking form in your suite andat the Shore Concierge desk. Select the tours in which you wish to participate, then leave the completed and signed form at the ShoreConcierge desk prior to the booking deadline indicated. Tour tickets will be delivered to your suite and your selected excursions chargedto your shipboard account. Overland and exclusive excursions must be pre-paid by credit card through your reservation agents. If stillavailable they may also be purchased on board. Shore excursions require a minimum number of participants in order to operate asdescribed. If this minimum number is not met, Silversea reserves the right to offer the programme at a different rate or to cancel thespecific departure.  SHORE EXCURSION PRICINGPrices are generally quoted per person, per tour, with the exception of Silver Shore Privato or group-designated excursions. Discounts for childrenunder 12 years of age are available on some, but not all tours. Prices for children, if available, will be adjusted onboard. Departure timesfrom the ship are published in the ships daily newspaper, the Silversea Chronicle. Guests are kindly requested to proceed ashore at leastten minutes prior to the tour departure time. The Shore Concierge team will be pier-side to direct you to the appropriate transportation.When the ship is at anchor, guests must allow additional time to tender ashore.Silversea Cruises reserves the right to adjust itineraries and tour departures as local conditions dictate. Our aim is to give you a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinary and many of yourquestions about our ports of call will be answered in these briefings, giving you more time to enjoy and immerse yourself in each port. Theinformation is presented in the theater or is pre-recorded and played on your in-suite entertainment system. SILVERSEA SHUTTLE SERVICEComplimentary transportation may be provided by Silversea when the local town is beyond a reasonable walking distance from the port.This service may not be possible in ports where a strong taxi union exists, preventing Silversea from providing a complimentary shuttle. Theavailability and schedule for this service will be announced onboard and listed in the Silversea Chronicle. We are not able to advise this inadvance. Operationally, intervals between shuttle bus departures could be affected by local traffic. Silversea is not liable for any unforeseendelays. There will be a break in service for driver meal times. Shuttle service is offered during the day only. The shuttle service is designedto augment local transportation; guests requiring more flexibility may prefer not to wait for a shuttle and secure a taxi at their own expense. CHILDREN ON TOURTo ensure the safety of our younger guests, participation by children in certain shore excursions may be restricted. To ensure the safety ofour younger guests, children up to the age of 8 years old are only permitted to participate in suitable Silver Shore Excursions and theshuttle service, if the vehicles are equipped with the correct safety harness and seating equipment, to accommodate a child. Suchharnesses' and secure seating cannot be guaranteed. Alternately guests may use their own approved safety seat, booster seat or harnessas long as they are compatible with the local touring vehicle and can properly secure the young guest. Silversea reserves the right to refusechildren under the age of 8 years old on any tour on the basis of safety. GRATUITIESGratuities for local guides and drivers are not included in the excursion price. It is customary to tip tour guides and drivers. Such gratuities ifextended, should be done so on a voluntary, individual basis. MOBILE TELEPHONESAs a courtesy to fellow guests, kindly refrain from using mobile telephones while on tour so as not to interfere with the guide’s explanation.Most tours make frequent stops, allowing time for guests to use their mobile telephones. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. SMOKINGFor reasons of safety and comfort, smoking is not permitted on any tour vehicles used by Silversea. Your understanding in this matter isappreciated. VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHY CHARGESAt some museums, sites and monuments, photography and/or the use of video cameras may not be allowed or may incur a charge. While our organised excursions are not generally geared to the serious shopper, some tours allow for short shopping stops as indicated inthe tour description. In the interest of all tour participants, guests should adhere to the allotted time and return to the tour vehiclepromptly as advised by the tour guide or ship’s escort. VCE-D / EVENING GONDOLA SERENADE FOR TWO DIFFICULTY 

Price:$499; Duration:2.50 hrs

 Experience the true essence of romance during a memorable, early-evening gondola cruise along the magical canals of Venice; an absolute mustfor any visitor to this enchanting city.Depart the pier via motorboat for the ride across the Giudecca Canal en route to a pier near St. Mark's Square. Upon arrival, take a short walk to the gondola landing stage and board one of these beautiful hand-painted boats, lovingly cared for by theirowners and a source of great pride for them. Gondola RideAlthough this cruise is non-narrated, the scenery speaks for itself as your gondolier traverses the narrow canals crossed by stone bridges andglides past balconied waterfront buildings. During your 30 to 35-minute ride, listen to musical serenade from a singer on board one of thegondolas in your flotilla. Following this memorable gondola ride, enjoy a drink in the romantic atmosphere of Saint Mark's area before re-joining your motorboat for theride back to the pier. Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking of approximately 15-20 minutes including the walking over four bridges to thegondola station. Guests must be reasonably agile, and able to embark and disembark vessels that sit low in the water. It is solely up to theGondolier to refuse boarding to anybody he seems is not able to enter and exit the Gondola without any assistants. Should this be case, norefunds will be given due to that. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility, walking difficulties and is not wheelchair-accessible. Casual clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. KOP-A / VILLAGES OF PIRAN & ISTRIAN DIFFICULTY 

Price:$69; Duration:4.50 hrs Experience the heritage, flavours and village life of the Slovenian countryside during this half-day sightseeing excursion.

Coastal DriveDepart the pier for the scenic, approximate 45-minute drive along the Slovenian coast. Learn about the local history and sites of interest as youproceed through the town of Izola and along the picturesque coast. Piran and PortorozNext, continue on to Piran, a small but important pearl on the north Adriatic coast and birthplace of legendary composer Tartini. A photo stop ismade here to admire the town's lovely Venetian architecture, and learn about its rich history. Afterward, re-board your coach for a panoramicdrive past the seaside resort of Portoroz, salt pans and fruit groves en route to a typical Istrian village. Istrian VillageThe village features spectacular panoramic views overlooking vineyards, orchards and hills, and its residents open their homes to visitors thatwould like to experience their traditions. Upon arrival, some time is made available to stroll through the village. Browse the stalls, samplehomemade food prepared with locally-grown organic ingredients and taste wine produced from its vineyards. Following your visit, re-board thecoach and commence the approximate 45-minute drive back to the pier. Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.9 miles (about 1.4 kilometres), with uneven, cobblestonesurfaces in Piran and a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests who utilise a wheelchair.Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended.  KOP-C / LJUBLJANA ON YOUR OWN DIFFICULTY

 Price:$69; Duration:6.00 hrs

 Discover the splendid beauty and landmarks of the Slovenian capital during this delightful, full-day sightseeing excursion to historic Ljubljana.Scenic Drive to Ljubljana and Walking Tour Depart the pier for the scenic, 1.5-hour drive to Ljubljana. Upon arrival, begin your guided walking tour of this historic city. Along the way, marvelat all five millenniums of Ljubljana's history. Highlights include the remains of the Roman 'Emona', a glorious medieval castle, numerous old citysquares with Baroque buildings boasting uneven rooftops, richly-decorated façades and portals, and the vast Tivoli Park, which extends to thecity centre. From here, continue past the Triple Bridge, Prešeren Square, Open-Air Market, medieval Town Hall, Baroque-style Robba's Fountain,and many other hidden architectural gems. Following your walking tour, free time is made available for independent exploration, lunch and browsing the many market stalls and shops. Atthe conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 1.5-hour drive back to the pier. Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking and standing for approximately 1.3 miles (2.1 kilometres), with a few steps tonegotiate to get on/off the coach and embark/disembark the boat.  KOP-D / KOPER BY BIKE DIFFICULTY

 Explore Slovenia in a scenic and invigorating new way during this half-day, bicycling excursion through the coastal countryside.Parenzana Trail Bicycle TourDepart the pier for the short transfer to the bicycle tour staging area. Upon arrival, receive your safety and riding instructions, then don a helmetand begin your approximate three-hour guided bicycle tour along the Parenzana Trail. The trail runs along the former narrow-gauge Parenzanarailway line, which used to connect Trieste, Italy and Porec, Croatia, and has become a symbol of friendship linking the Slovene, Italian andCroatian municipalities.

 The Parenzana Trail is suitable for walking, jogging or bicycling, and includes several rest stops where visitors can take a break. Your guideinforms you about the local sights and history as you proceed through old towns and villages, beside the sea, among vineyards and olive groves,through short and lit tunnels, across valleys, and over hills. Izola and PortorozPassing Koper, a rest stop is made in the fishing village of Izola before continuing on to the salt pans located beyond the first tunnel. After ridingthrough another tunnel, the cycling portion of this Silver Shore Expedition tour concludes in Portoroz. Continue your tour to Armolia village, one of the smallest and simplest of the mastichochoria (mastic villages) where you may enjoy a brief visit toone of the many Masticha plantations of the island and you are able to see the Chios gum (or mastic) trees. From these bushy trees, cultivatedonly here in the south of Chios, mastic gum is produced. PyrgiThen proceed to Pyrgi, renowned for its bright houses, many patterned with xysta (grating) decoration. Outer walls are plastered using blacksand and coated with whitewash. This is then carefully scraped off in repetitive geometric patterns, revealing the black undercoat. An example ofthis is the church of Agioi Apostoloi (St. Apostoles), which will be visited and where you may admire its medieval frescoes. A short refreshment break follows, before continuing your tour to Mesta, a medieval village which, together with Pyrgi, represents the fortifyingarchitecture of the 14th and 15th centuries on the island. Although damaged during the earthquake of 1881 it has been gracefully restored and housesextraordinary mosaics and frescoes. A short distance away is the village of Avgonima. Koraes. During the year 1858 in the Library of Koraes was added the library of I. Andreadis, M. and afterwards a large number of literates fromChios Island donated a significant number of books. It was of great significance the enrichment of the library by the Argentis' family, whichdonated a variety of books, paintings, maps and other precious exhibits. Today in Korai's library you can find more than one hundred thousandvolumes of books, with significant and rare publications. The collection also includes important manuscripts codices, maps, pictures, photos andfiles of newspapers and magazines. Citrus MuseumAfterwards, your tour continues towards the south of the island not too far from Chios town to one of the most famous areas of Chios, Kambos.
