Because of the upcoming Canonization of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta many people are looking for information to learn more about her life. One of the movies about her life (Mother Teresa) is available to all members of our parishes on a web-site: formed.org. This is a very useful website with many different resources available for our use. Our parishes have purchased the rights to access this information. Listed below are the instructions on how to access this movie and many very useful re-sources. If you have any trouble accessing this please call any of the offices. Looking for more information on Mother Teresa due to her upcoming canonization? The parish subscribes to a website so that you can sign up and have free access to awesome programs, audios, books and movies! There are 44 movies, such as Maria Goretti, Find-ing Fatima, The 13th Day, St. Therese, St. Francis, The Blessed Mother, Padre Pio, et cetera, available online to stream for free at any time! Here are the instructions:
1. Go to www.formed.org. 2. In the middle of the screen, where it says, ‘Does your parish already have
formed?’, type the code AVBY2T (case sensitive). 3. After you click ‘submit code’, the next page is a basic registration page. Once
you have that filled out and click ‘submit profile’, you can log in (if you aren’t already).
4. Once you are logged in, the main page it brings you to is the ‘Programs’ page. 5. Across the top of the screen are the different categories of media available on
this website. 6. Click on Movies, scroll down to Mother Teresa.
MEETING CHRIST IN PRAYER—Learn How to Pray as an Adult Meeting Christ in Prayer introduces participants to various ways of praying, helps you form regular habits of prayer, and provides you with an opportunity to meet Christ anew and to experience support in the Christian life in a new way. It can also inspire a profound sense of mission that urges participants to a new level of discipleship. Participants are asked to commit themselves to meeting once a week for eight weeks and to pray and reflect daily, using the guided exercises that are provided. No prior experience in praying with others is needed, just a desire to renew your faith, enrich your prayer life, or become more aware of God’s presence in everyday life. If you are interested in participating please call the office at any parish. Classes will begin Tuesday, August 16th at Blessed Teresa following the 5:30pm Mass (approx. 6:15pm).

1. To assist at Mass on all Sundays and holydays of obligation. 2. To fast and to abstain on the days appointed. 3. To confess our sins at least once a year. 4. To receive Holy Communion during the Easter time. 5. To contribute to the support of the Church. 6. To observe the laws of the Church concerning marriage.

Jesus showed us that our true value lies in the way we live our lives. He challenges us to not store up or hoard material possessions, but rather to live a grateful and generous lifestyle.

A Life Message…. We are invited to share our blessings with others. The parable of the rich fool gives us a warning as well as an invitation. It reminds us that our possessions are merely lent to us by God, and that we are accountable for their use. We must be generous in sharing our time, our treasure, and our talents, the three elements of Christian stewardship. Every one of us is rich in one thing or another. The parable instructs us to share these gifts. Even if we are poor financially, we may be blessed with intelligence, good will, a sense of humor or the ability to encourage, inspire and sup-port others. God expects us to give our thanks to Him for all these bless-ings by sharing them with others for His glory. Giving God the first fruits of our labors, not the meager leftovers, is a traditional way of becoming “rich in what matters to God.” The Old Testament Scriptures are clear about tithing – 10% -- and that’s the top 10%, not the last 10%. God never al-lows tithers to regret their generosity. Not only are tithers better off economically but also they feel a sense of personal satisfaction.

Benefiting Broom Tree Retreat & Conference Center The 22nd Annual “Bishop’s Charity Golf Classic” is scheduled for Monday, August 29th. There will be two simultaneous golf tournaments - “The Bish-op’s Scramble,” and “The Bishop’s Cup” – which will be held at The Country Club of Sioux Falls and Minnehaha Country Clubs with a shotgun start at noon.
