The Religious Education Program is open from 9:30AM to 2:30PM, Monday thru Thursday and starting the week of the 27th only on Monday nights from 6:00PM – 8:30PM. Please call 429-8824 for more information. Registration for 2018 to 2019 is in progress. Please go to the office for more information, and do not wait until September to register your child. We will send out information for classes in September in August. We are looking for volunteers to teach religion to 1st thru 7th grades. We will have a week of preparation and understanding of the material being taught during the month of July. Just come to the classes and see if it’s something you can help us with. Pray about it and ask questions. Our children need you. The date for the classes will be posted in late June. The religious education classes are from early September to mid- May. Please continue praying for our students.

PARISH PICNIC Our annual parish picnic takes place this Sunday, June 10th, at Bowline Park. Tickets are available at $5 for individuals and $15(limit 4) for a family. The ticket price covers hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, coffee, games for children, entry to the swimming pool and a great time of visiting with old friends and meeting new friends. Please bring dessert to share at the picnic.
PROGRAMA DE EDUCACION RELIGIOSA El Programa de Catecismo estará abierto los lunes hasta jueves de 9:30AM hasta las 2:30PM y a partir de la semana del 27 sólo en las noches los lunes de 6:00PM – 8:30PM. DIA DE CAMPO PARROQUIAL Nuestro Día de Campo Parroquial tiene lugar hoy, el domingo 10º de junio, en el Parque Bowline. FATHER’S DAY NOVENA Our annual Father’s Day Novena begins next Sunday, June 17th. Deceased and living fathers may be enrolled in this novena. Novena envelopes are in the boxed sets that our registered parishioners receive. Extra envelopes for those who need them are on the shelves by the front center doors of the church.
FR. OSVALDO HERNANDEZ
Next Sunday we will welcome Fr. Osvaldo Hernandez to St. Peter and St. Mary Church. Fr. Hernandez was ordained by Cardinal Dolan in St. Patrick’s Cathedral three weeks ago on May 26th. Our parish will be the first in which he will serve as a priest. It is a blessing for our parish that he begins his priestly ministry with us. As we pray for him, let us pray for our parish that we will be “good earth” as his priesthood takes root among us. At least since 1931 with the arrival of Rev. Robert Brown our parish has served as the first parish for many newly-ordained priests. This is an acknowledgement of the faith and vitality of our parish.
FR. JOSE CRUZ We have the blessing of almost three of priestly ministry of Fr. Jose Cruz in our parish and community. Fr. Cruz is being assigned by Cardinal Dolan to serve in St. Patrick’s Church in Newburgh effective on July 1st. We are grateful for Fr. Jose’s devoted service here. In two weeks, on Sunday June 24th, we will have a chance to express our thanksgiving on the patio in front of church where we will have coffee and bagels after each of our Masses. Also, on Sunday, June 24th, we will have a luncheon reception for Fr. Jose in our school gym. NINTH ANNUAL NEW YORK CATHOLIC BIBLE

NOVENA DEL DÍA DEL PADRE Nuestro Novena Anual del Día de los Padre comienza el domingo próximo 17º de junio. Pueden ser inscritos en esta Novena los padres fallecidos y los que viven. Los sobres para esta Novena están en las cajas que recibieron para las ofrendas semanales además tenemos sobres extra para aquellos que necesiten estos sobres se encuentran en el centro delantero de las puertas de la iglesia.
PADRE OSVALDO HERNANDEZ
El domingo próximo daremos la bienvenida a nuestra Iglesia San Pedro y Santa María, al Padre Osvaldo Hernández. El Padre Hernández fue ordenado por el Cardenal Dolan en la Catedral San Patricio hace tres semanas, el día 26 de mayo. Nuestra parroquia será el primer lugar donde él sirva como sacerdote. Es una bendición para nuestra parroquia que el comience su ministerio aquí con nosotros. Al orar por el Padre Hernández, oremos también por nuestra parroquia para que sea “tierra fértil” mientras su sacerdocio echa raíces entre nosotros. Por lo menos desde el 1931, con el arribo del Reverendo Robert Brown, nuestra parroquia ha servido como primera parroquia para muchos sacerdotes recién ordenados. Este es un reconocimiento a la fe y la vitalidad de nuestra parroquia.
PADRE JOSE CRUZ Tenemos la bendición de casi tres de los ministerios sacerdotales del Padre José Cruz en nuestra parroquia y nuestra comunidad. El Padre Cruz está siendo asignado por el Cardenal Dolan para servir en la Iglesia San Patricio de Newburgh, comenzando el 1ro de Julio. Estamos agradecidos del dedicado servicio del Padre José aquí entre nosotros. Dentro de dos semanas, el domingo 24, tendremos la oportunidad de expresarle nuestro agradecimiento en el patio frontal de la iglesia, donde tendremos café y bagels, después de cada una de las Misas. También, el domingo 24 de junio, tendremos un almuerzo y una recepción para el Padre José en el gimnasio de la escuela.
