Many of us will ask ourselves very crucial questions as we accompany Jesus to Jerusalem. How do we treat him? In what ways do we praise him and welcome him when we meet him in our churches and as we celebrate the sacraments? Will we stay with him or will we abandon him like many other people? . Fortunately God’s love for us is not dependant on our positive response to him. God’s love for us in Christ is unfaltering. Jesus died ‘for our sins’ (1 Cor 15:3). In doing so, he emptied himself totally for our sake, and for the sake of all people of every time and place Thus he brought us life on the cross even though he lost his own life there. In the face of human betrayal he proved that God’s love for us is endless.

MASS OF THE OILS This Tuesday April 11, 7.30pm
@ the Cathedral, Waitara This Mass, at which the oils to be used in
celebrating the sacraments for the coming year are blessed, will be celebrated by Bishop Peter and the priests of the diocese at the Cathedral, Waitara on the Tuesday of
Holy Week, this Tuesday. This is a very important Mass which manifests in a real way our unity with the bishop and other parishes of the diocese. We would like as many parishioners as possible to attend this celebration and encourage you to check the booking sheet at the foyer to determine if there is a spot for you. We also ask those who have booked to delete your name now if you think you won’t be going to ensure we have space for all. Soup & a bread roll will be offered before Mass from 6.30 to 7.15pm and therefore the bus will
depart at 5.15pm sharp from Victoria Street. A cuppa will be offered after Mass.

WE WELCOME BACK ALDRIN! At some point during Holy Week Aldrin Valdahueza will return to the parish on his break from studies at the
seminary at Homebush, and it will certainly be good to bask in his happy countenance once more.
Aldrin has been studying with fellow seminarians Martino [Hoang Tri Hieu], Hien Vu & Samuel French and if anyone

our new Eucharistic Ministers each weekend over the last few weeks—a big effort.
We would like to thank all who came for the church cleaning last Tuesday - what a team! We also thank Pam McCrae, Denise Begg & John McCrae for the great work
providing such a delightful morning tea for the workers - always so enjoyable.
Our Mass for the Bereaved, Stations of the Cross, and luncheon last Wednesday were only possible due to the work of Margaret Eadie, Cecilia Coughlin & AV presenter,
Bob Smith and we thank them so much for their time, energy and commitment to the cause of ensuring that we support our people in their time of loss.
Marie & Clem O’Donovan would like to thank June Farr & Gai Winters for taking over their ‘votive candle duty’ while they had a weekend away with the family. We are
sure June and Gai were very happy to relieve these two tireless stalwarts. If there’s anybody else out there who’d like to give them a hand on a regular basis, please just
