A Family Perspective ~ September 23rd ~ 25th Sunday of Ordinary Time -- Disagreements are common in families. But what would you say if Jesus posed the same question “What are you arguing about?” Is it silly & petty? Is it an attempt to impose your will & control on another? Today Jesus tells us & his disciples to give it up. We are meant to serve each other, not control.

Parishioner Irene Frank is turning 99 this Sunday,

September 23rd!!! Please consider sending her a card

down at Hickory Creek, 401 Fountain Street, Hicksville,

Ohio 43526. Thank you! Happy Birthday, Irene!

This week marked the start of our CCD year. As we

begin, we want to thank those who have volunteered their

time as teachers: Melody Stevenson, 1st grade, Veronica

Laker, 2nd grade, Jim Gears, 3rd grade, Krista Inkrott, 4th

grade, Natasha Eicher, 5th grade, Brenda Greer, 6th grade,

Judy McCalla, 7th grade, Geoff and Barb Parker, 8th grade,

and Angelica Schooley, 9th-12th grades. If you are still

interested in helping, please email Deano Smalley at

[email protected]. We are still looking for someone

who can teach the PreK and Kindergarten class, as well as

someone to teach 6th grade every other week. Also, we can

always use more substitutes.

As next Sunday is the 5th Sunday, there will be a

second collection for the Parish Assistance Fund. This

fund helps our own parishioners when they have financial

needs. Thank you for being so generous!

Life Runners (@liferunners.org) ~ “Before I

formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born

I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.”

Jeremiah 1:5. Join us on Thursdays at 6:30pm at the

Hicksville Track (at the park). We are running (walking)

for Pro-Life. For more info visit liferunners.org or call

We have a job opening here at the parish for a

part-time janitor. This position does not include cleaning

in the church or maintenance but does include cleaning

most of the rest of the facilities. If you're interested, contact

the office at 419-542-8202 and leave a message or

[email protected] for more details.

It is Harvest Time!!! RCIA needs your help

harvesting and feeding the starving souls. It is time to seek

the lost and bring them to Jesus. RCIA has started & ALL

ARE WELCOME after 10:30am Mass!! We will have

lunch then get started at 12:00 noon. If you want a refresher

course or you want to learn more about the Catholic Faith,

come! If you know anyone who may want to or needs to

join the Catholic Church, invite them! The classes will run

every Sunday after Mass until one week after Easter. I hear

way too much talk about how everyone is leaving the

Church; it is time to unite and invite!! If each person invites

one, just think what that could do. Deacon Rod Conkle

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, does this

sound like you? "When new people show up at social

events or gatherings, I always try to meet them and talk to

them." "I make people feel welcome and comfortable

when I meet them." "I like to meet new people and make

them feel welcome." If you said yes to any of these

statements, the Amazing Parish Leadership Team needs

you. We are forming a Hospitality Team for our Parish and

need you to use your gifts to help our Amazing Parish.

Please email or call Deacon Joe if you are interested. My

contact information is on the front of the bulletin. Thanks to

all who work so hard to serve Christ!
