The Parental Involvement Act 2006Parents/carers have a VITAL ROLE to play
in their own child’s educationFrom August 2006 –The Parent Council
replaced the “School Board” and the “PTA”From then on ,all parents/carers of children
at St Luke’s High School automatically became members of the Parent Forum
The Role of the Parent Council is defined as :-
“represent the views of all parents/carers ,pupils,preschool groups and the wider community and to report back to the parents/carers in the school(“The Parent Forum”)....”
Membership of the Parent CouncilSenior Leadership TeamChurch representativeElected members from local authority Parents/Carers -including elected parent Council Office
Bearers being Chair,Vice Chair,Treasurer and Secretary.
Meetings Constitution states that the Parent Council
meets six times a year Can have ad hoc meetings to discuss Cluster
fund raising matters or events (only one needed in 2013/2014)
