before hitting the road at San Diego (3) and Texas (2).

percentage at .574, behind only the Cardinals. The

MIDWEST ALL STARS: Yesterday it was announced that three
Single-A Great Lakes’ Loons prospects were named to the Midwest
League All-Star team: infielder Michael Ahmed, starting pitcher
Grant Holmes and reliever J.D. Underwood were elected to the
Eastern roster for the game taking place on June 23. Ahmed leads the
Loons in stolen bases with 17, more than twice as many as any other
player on the team. Holmes has posted a record of 3-0 with a 3.22
ERA and is currently ranked third in the Midwest League with 58
strikoeuts. Underwood has is 2-0 with a 2.25 earned run average.
NICE RETURNS: Rehabbing Dodger outfielder Yasiel Puig went 2-
for-4 and played 7.0 innings yesterday for Single-A Rancho
Cucamonga and will play again tonight in Lancaster. Newly signed
Cuban infielder Hector Olivera made his United States’ professional
debut at third base and went 1-for-4 with two walks in 13.0 innings.
WE NEED A JOC JAM: Joc Pederson nearly missed hitting a home
run in his sixth consecutive game twice last night, settling for a wall-
scraping double in four at-bats. Pederson’s streak of five consecutive
games with a home run still tied Matt Kemp (2010), Shawn Green
(2001) and Roy Campanella (1950) for the modern single-season
Dodger franchise mark for consecutive games with a homer. He was
also the first rookie in franchise history to homer in five consecutive
games and the first MLB rookie to do so since Caleb Joseph in 2014.
Pederson’s 17 home runs are tied with Giancarlo Stanton for
second in the NL, one behind Bryce Harper, and are the most
ever by a Dodger through the first 72 games of their career.
Pederson also ranks among the NL’s best in on-base
percentage (.390, 10th), walks (35, 3
rd), slugging percentage
(.603, 4th) and OPS (.993, 5
th).
Pederson’s three leadoff homers in a season tie Johnny
Frederick (1929) for the most by a rookie in club history.
Pederson ranks second in the Majors in at-bats per home run,
trailing just Harper (9.83):

TAKE TWO: Adrian Gonzalez went 2-for-4 last night and ripped
his Major League-leading 21st double of the season, putting him on
pace for 63 two-baggers, which would obliterate the Dodger franchise
single-season record of 52, set by Johnny Frederick in 1929. The
Los Angeles Dodger record was established by Shawn Green, who hit
49 doubles in 2003. Gonzalez is currently in range of attacking the
Major League record of 67 doubles in a season, a feat accomplished
by Boston’s Earl Webb in 1931.
Gonzalez ranks among the NL’s best in runs (37, T-3rd
),
home runs (11, 9th), batting average (.337, 4
th), on-base
percentage (.413, 5th) and slugging percentage (.612, 3
rd).
Gonzalez is batting .378 (14-for-37) with runners in scoring
position and is one of three Dodgers hitting at least .340 with
RISP, joining Yasmani Grandal (.367, 11-for-30) and
Howie Kendrick (.340, 16-for-47).
In the latest All-Star Game balloting update for the 86th
Midsummer Classic in Cincinnati, Gonzalez leads all
National League first baseman with 1,380,696 votes, just
313, 214 ahead of Arizona’s Paul Goldschmidt. To vote for
Gonzalez, Joc Pederson (currently 10th among outfielders)
and all of the other Dodger starters, fans can vote online or
on their mobile device up to 35 times by going to MLB.com
or Dodgers.com. Balloting ends July 2nd at 11:59 p.m.
