Grace Network - request for Jan-March : Sugar or Rice/feature items for Jan are toilet paper and
deodorant. Items can be placed in the basket under the table in the commons.
Community Storehouse – individual microwaveable meals such as Chef Boyardee for children. These
meals go home on weekends for children who can’t depend on getting food at home. Bible Study :
Sunday morning after 10:15 Mass until 1:00 pm in the library. Come to share.
Thursday evening 7:00. Bible Study every Thurs. Every 3rd Thurs at 6:30 pm will be movie night
Eucharistic Adoration every Friday beginning after Mass until 6:00 pm. Come and spend
some time with the Lord!
Food Lion gift cards in various amounts are available every Sunday after Mass and in the church office
during the week. The cards can be used when you do your regular shopping or given as gifts. They are as
easy to use as a debit card- just swipe and go! FOOD LION GIFT CARDS MAKE GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFTS!

Five First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate
Heart of Mary- Our Lady of Fatima
1st Saturday of the month Masses will be celebrated at St.
Joseph at 9:30 am. There will be a Mass each month through
February. (Jan. 7; Feb. 4). The sacrament of Confession will
be available before and after each Mass. Cinco sábados de

The second collection next weekend is for Building
maintenance. This fund helps pay for the upkeep and
repair of our church. (ie: leaking roofs!) The general
operating collection is used to pay for the everyday
operating expenses of the parish La primera colecta

Youth Events: The children’s Christmas party will be Wed. Dec. 14 during
class time. Registration for
Discovery retreats and DYC are now open. Talk to your peers about these fun and powerful weekends and contact Donna for a registration form.
Advent Penance Service will take place at St. Joseph’s on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7:00 pm and at St. Francis of Assisi on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 7:00 pm Individual confessions will follow. There will be two confessors prepared to hear Confessions in either English or Spanish. There will be no confessions at St. Joseph on
Wed. It’s not too late to join Fr. Nicholas’ Advent Series of talks on each Sunday of Advent in the church
at 2:00 pm. The gatherings will end at about 3:15 with
Daytime Prayer. Please come and bring a friend.
We need your prayers - If you are willing to take or make phone calls asking for prayers for parishioners who are in need, please contact Betty Gillispie 638-4120.
Christmas Basket Raffle
Tickets are $1.00
Drawing will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18 after 10:15 Mass.
Proceeds will be donated to the youth for their retreat in
February. These retreats are a powerful way to bring our
young people closer to God and to our Catholic faith. With two
weekends very close together, costs can be prohibitive for
many families. Your support will help many of them attend
both weekends
The Ladies Auxiliary have a treat filled Christmas basket raffle going on now to raise money for youth retreats in February.
Drawing will be on December 18th. The Ladies Auxiliary meets on the first Tuesday of the month and is open to anyone wanting to
become more active in the parish.
"Pilgrimage to the shrines of France" with Fr. Matt Kiehl of Roanoke, on June 19-27. $3899 from Roanoke! Lourdes, Paris (for the shrine of the Miraculous Medal , and sight seeing) Never (where St. Bernadette lived for 12 years) and Lisieux, where the Little Flower lived and died .
Hymnals- There are twenty (20) Journeysong hymnals scattered around in the pews, which have no nameplates in them. This means we would love to have twenty more names and donations of $20 each so we can remedy this situation! Get information (names of donor and honoree or deceased) and donation into the office or to Barbara Kurtz at your earliest convenience.
The annual Baby bottle boomerang program is underway!
Pick up a baby bottle and fill it with your loose change and
help the Pregnancy Care Center support babies and their
mothers. Many thanks to all those who lovingly gave to the
Salvation Army Angel Tree project. God bless you for
your kindness and unselfish giving.
