A note for you:

In the Old Testament we often read about how God hates sin-ners and wants to punish them. This is hard to understand. In the New Testament Jesus says we should love our enemies and do well for them (Matthew 5:44). In the “Our Father” he teaches us that we will be pardoned in the same way that we pardon. He was criticized for associating and eating with sinners. He himself showed love for those who were nailing him to the cross by ask-ing God to forgive them. John says: “God is love” (1 John 4:4-8) How is it possible that God could hate anyone? I believe that God feels sad when someone goes to hell because of their own choices. Jesus clarified what is written in the Old Testament. In the Gos-pel of St. Matthew 5:43-48 we read: “You have heard that it was said: ‘you shall love your neighbors and hate your enemy’. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father who makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” I believe that reflects clearly the love of God for all. God does hate sin. Sin is evil. But God doesn’t hate the sin-ners. He continues to love the sinner and hopes that through his love to sinner will repent and return to him like the lost sheep. God does not want anyone to be lost. (John 6:37-40)

Una nota para ti: En el Antiguo Testamento, frecuentemente leemos acerca de cómo Dios odia a los pecadores y quiere castigarlos. Esto es muy difícil de aceptar. En el Nuevo Testamento, Jesús dice que debemos amar a nuestros enemigos y hacerles bien (Mateo 5:44). En el "Padre Nuestro", él nos enseña que seremos perdo-nados de la misma manera que perdonamos. Lo criticaron a Él por asociarse y comer con pecadores. Él mismo mostró amor por aquellos que lo estaban clavando en la cruz pidiéndole a Dios que los perdonara. Juan dice: "Dios es amor" (1 Juan 4: 4-8). ¿Cómo es posible que Dios odie a alguien? Creo que Dios se siente triste cuando alguien va al infierno por las decisiones que ha tomado. Jesús clarificó lo que está escrito en el Antiguo Testamento. En el Evangelio de San Mateo 5: 43-48 leemos: "Has oído que se dijo: ‘amarás a tus vecinos y odiarás a tu enemigo’. Pero yo les digo, amen a sus enemigos y oren por aquellos que los persi-guen, para que sean hijos de su Padre celestial, que hace salir su sol sobre malos y buenos, y hace llover sobre justos e injus-tos.” Creo que eso refleja claramente el amor de Dios para to-dos. Dios odia el pecado El pecado es malo Pero Dios no odia a los pecadores. Continúa amando al pecador y espera que a través de su amor al pecador se arrepienta y regrese a él como la ove-ja perdida. Dios no quiere que nadie se pierda. (Juan 6: 37-40)
