Kathryn Jenkin (soprano) studied atWarwick University and the RoyalAcademy of Music. Her concert, operatic,recital and recording work takes heraround Britain and abroad, and she hasperformed Bach’s St John Passion withThe Hanover Band, the Mass in B minorwith St Peter’s Singers, and – last year –John Adams’ new opera El Niño at theChatelet Theatre in Paris.

Simon Baker (countertenor) was born inEdinburgh, and in July 2000 graduatedwith distinction from the Royal College ofMusic where he studied with AshleyStafford. His performances in the operasand oratorios of Handel have receivedparticular critical acclaim and The Timeshas featured him in its ‘Great BritishHopes’ series, exploring rising British talents.

Mark Anderson (tenor) was a choralscholar at New College, Oxford. His oratorio repertoire encompasses many ofthe major roles from the 17th to the20th centuries, and his solo broadcastshave included appearances on BBC Radio 3’s Choir Works, Between the Earsand Spirit Of the Age. He has just madehis solo CD recording debut for Naxos,singing Pontius Pilate in Arvo Pärt’s St John Passion.

Daniel Auchincloss (tenor) moved toBritain from Canada in 1995, since whenhe has performed with groups includingThe English Concert, Orchestra of the Ageof Enlightenment and the GabrieliConsort, and worked with some ofBritain’s leading conductors includingRichard Hickox, David Hill, JamesMacmillan and Roger Norrington in

repertoire ranging from early music tocontemporary.

Stuart MacIntyre (baritone) has workedwith conductors Franz Welser-Möst, Jean-Bernard Pommier and Sir John EliotGardiner in concerts and commercialrecordings. He made his London recitaldebut in Malcolm Martineau’s Liederreiseseries at St John’s Smith Square, and lastyear performed Wolf’s ItalienischesLiederbuch in Brussels.

Giles Underwood (bass) spends half his professional life singing in vocalensembles and the rest as a soloist. He isa regular member of consorts such as I Fagiolini and Polyphony and has recently performed in Bermuda and theCanary Islands. He is the bass soloist onStephen Darlington’s new recording ofHaydn’s Stabat Mater.

Michael Emery (conductor) is a graduate of Merton College, Oxford –where he was Organ Scholar – and theRoyal Northern College of Music – wherehe studied the organ with Gillian Weir. In 1989 he joined the BBC and since1992 has been Senior Producer for theBBC Singers, the BBC’s own professionalchoir.

St Peter’s Singers is a well-establishedWest London chamber choir whose concerts have raised several thousandpounds for British and international charities. In recent years the choir hastwice sung before members of the RoyalFamily, given the first performance inmodern times of Handel’s Messiah inMoscow, and sung for a Sunday morningMass in St Mark’s, Venice.
