Darren Rodwell, leader of Barking and Dagenham council
Look all around you: the vision ofmid-21st century Barking hasalready begun. You'll see it in thenew ASDA and Technical SkillsCollege in the town centre's 'northquarter'. Look southwards, theAbbey Leisure Centre and TheBroadway theatre are contemporaryadditions to the public realm. Headinto the heart of Barking to TownHall Square, where new, vibrantlyhued apartments sit alongside andcomplement the 20th century townhall and sensitively retained wall ofa building dated 1862.

A very interesting,well-planned schemewith the potential to bea great development
Barking, with its proud history that datesfrom the 7th century royal monastery to
contemporary regeneration exemplars andvisionary development plans is the prototype21st century town centre upon which otherswill be modelled. The stylish apartments at
360 are the zeitgeist that set a newbenchmark for modern urban livingSo, the vision has begun to be
realised in Barking. Now, the nextphase, which your new home at 360º is at the heart of, will lift Barking to a whole new level. The apartments at 360º are quitesimply the standard bearer for newhomes. Their design, specification, build quality, and finishing isunsurpassed. The overall excellenceof 360º is matched by the town'svision for the new Vicarage Fieldshopping, leisure and residentialquarter, and the new marina withriverboat services to London.
And there's yet more on the horizon. A masterplan to build10,000 new homes over the next 15 years has been greenlit byLondon Mayor Sadiq Khan at BarkingRiverside. Dubbed ‘Barcelona onThames’, the overall scheme will bethe capital's single largestregeneration site. The 180-hectarebrownfield site, located on thenorthern bank of the Thames, willinclude a new railway station andtransport interchange, promenade, wildlife reserves and a marina.
