NOTES FROM YOUR PASTOR
** This weekend, July 7th - 8th, Father James Quinlan of Cross International Catholic Outreach will be visiting our parish to speak on behalf of the poor in developing countries. Cross Catholic Outreach was founded to create a meaningful link between parishes in America and the priests and nuns working in the Church overseas in the Caribbean,
Africa, Asia, Central and South America.
** I will be on vacation from July 9-25th.
** I encourage women of the parish to pray about attending the upcoming Women’s ACTS Retreat on July 26-29. Registration forms are available at the St. James and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church
offices. See additional info in the bulletin.
** The Archbishop has asked input for parishioners in all our parishes to submit their thoughts and ideas for planning a vision statement for our Archdiocese. The following three questions are to be answered by
those interested:
1) What do you most appreciate about the Archdiocese of San
Antonio?
2) What is your vision of the Archdiocese in the next five years? Or in what direction should the emphasis of the Archdiocese be over the next
five years?
3) In the next 18-24 months, what three priorities should the Archdiocese name and fulfill? What would you like to see accomplished
within the next three years?
This needs to be answered by the end of July. Please send to St. James Catholic Church c/o Archbishop’s Vision, 510 S. Camp St.,
Seguin., TX 78155.

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible
like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What is we turned back to get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What is we used it in case of an emergency?
This is something to make you go...hmmm…
Where is my bible?
Oh, and one more thing.
Unlike our cell phone, we don’t have to worry about our
Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
Makes you stop and thing ‘where are my priorities? An no
dropped call!
