Please show respect and reverence at worship,
whether weekday or weekend Mass, by being punc-
tual, and properly dressed for Church.
Properly dressed? What does that mean? People have no problem, it seems, dressing for wed-dings, funerals, office parties, or dates -- but seem to think that dressing to meet Almighty God at the Mass is passé. But dressing for Mass is simply a matter of showing proper respect, not only for God, but for oth-ers around you. It's certainly not a matter of showing off one's finery -- lots of people don't even have fine clothes. Certainly, too, some people may attend cer-tain Masses -- say the 5:00 PM Mass -- on their way
home from their construction jobs. Fine! There is nothing to worry about in these things! Never let cir-
cumstances out of your control make you feel embar-rassed or keep you away from the Sacraments!
But ...one should always wear clothes that are mod-est, and, if possible, all things being equal, clean and
the nicest clothes one has. Please refrain from cut-
off or holey jeans; these are not holy to the Lord.
No shorts or sweats, mini skirts, spaghetti or stra-
pless dresses; turn off pagers and cell phones.
Let’s do our BEST for GOD!

THE YEAR OF FAITH THE CREED
through Him, all things were made.
Again we look to the first chapter of St. John’s Gospel for our source. We read
there that: “All things came to be through Him, and without Him nothing came to
be.” (John 1:3). And again: “He was in the world, and the world came to be through
Him, but the world did not know Him.” (John 1:10).
This may, at first glance, seem to contradict the beginning of the Creed where it is
stated that “I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth…” but that is not the case. In this
instance we read, and profess, that “through him...” the difference being FROM the Father and THROUGH the Son.
This is extended as we shall see later in the series that it is BY the power of the Holy Spirit. (CCC 258).
In reverse we are able to see our own redemption and salvation as we say that we come to the Father through
the Son through the Holy Spirit. In this we can say that our salvation is, in effect, a reflection of that time of crea-
tion as we are created anew through Jesus Christ, a new creation for everyone who wishes, desires, to be made a
new person through the grace of God.

Prayer for Vocations
God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, religious, and consecrated per-sons. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Thank you for your continued support & generosity.
