For Boniface is a member of the Society of African Missions (Societas Missionum Ad Afros), who were founded in 1856 by Bishop Melchoir de Marion Bresillac with blessings of Pope Pius IX. The members of the Society of African Missions-priests, brothers and lay missionaries-strive to be a living witness to the Gospel of Jesus in the sixteen countries in Africa where they are present and among people of African heritage wherever they live. Welcome Fr. Boniface. ** I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Knights of Columbus for trimming all the trees on the Austin St. property. The tree cutting crew was: Manuel Yosko, Ed Dronke, Ronnie Mudd, Ed Konop, Ben Huser, Mark and Mason Zinsmeister, Leonard Sosa, Victor Lopez and Fr. Dennis. I appreciate all the hard work and dedication for a job Well Done! Thank you brother Knights. ** Please remember that this Wednesday is the Feast of the Assumption , a Holy Day of Obligation. The Vigil Mass is on Tuesday at 7PM, Wednesday Masses are at 8AM & 12:15PM. Our Lady of Guadalupe will have Mass on Wednesday at 8AM, 12:15 & 6 PM. The 6PM Mass will be in Spanish. ** The Pastoral Council discussed providing gift baskets again this year, for the festival, and to man the Hospitality booth to greet and answer any questions; parish directories to be picked up this weekend; a day retreat for married couples; a day retreat for singles; asking groups to build time for retreats and prayer; get our organizations to spend a little time on prayer. ** Support System for Single Parents I would like to inquire if there is any interest for single parents to gather for support. ** This weekend we welcome Fr. Boniface Tye. For Boniface

Your Voice Can be Heard!

Please come join our choir. Our goal is to help the congregation participate more fully in the liturgy and through music, ‘raise their minds to God.’ The first practice after the summer recess will be on Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the choir loft. There are no auditions and practice CDs are provided. If you can sing, we need you!

St. James Fall Festival News

September 29 & 30, 2012 Seguin Events Complex

It’s that time of the year again and planning is underway for this year’s fall festival. We are asking parishioners to make donations towards

expenses for this years festival.

Envelopes are available in the church pews for your contribution, or donations can also be

dropped off at the church office.

Items for the silent and live auction are needed as well. Please contact the church office for more

information at (830)379-1796.

We hope this year’s festival is the most successful yet!

Bulletin articles may be emailed to [email protected]. Articles should be

received, in the office, by noon on Mondays. Please show respect and reverence at worship by

being punctual and properly dressed for Church.

2012 Festival Auction

We are once again looking for items for the Festival Auction this fall. We will be

accepting monetary donations as well as gift cards, trips, new items, antique or unique hand crafted items for both the live and

silent auctions. We are also asking for any help with

collecting items as well as help with setup and working the day of the auction.

“Keeping God In Everything We Do”

Volunteers Needed!!!

We are looking for volunteers for our reading program for the upcoming school year. If you would like to volunteer to listen to some of the

children read, please call the school office. For more information please call 379-2878.

Starting in September St. James School will be

participating in one of the masses on a rotational

basis as Lectors of the Liturgy and assisting the

ushers for that mass. The second collection for

the school will be the weekend of Sept. 22-23.

Religious Education Info

We will begin religious education classes for children in September. Pre-K thru 5th grade classes will be held on Sunday mornings and 6th thru 8th grade classes will be held on Wednesday evenings. Registration forms available next weekend. We need several people to help on Sundays and Wednesdays. Please call Sr. Cal at 379-7689 or [email protected] if you can help as a catechist (Pre-K and 4th grades), catechist aide (all grades), safety monitor or office aide. We appreciate any way you can contribute to passing on the Faith to our young people. We will also begin RCIA sessions in September. If you or someone you know would like to explore becoming Catholic, please contact Sr. Cal. If you are a baptized adult Catholic who has not celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation, we can prepare you for that sacrament as well. Baptism preparation sessions for parents of infants will be held in September and November. Please call Sr. Cal for more information.

Monthly Rosary at Hacienda Oaks

Please join St. Ann’s Circle ladies as they recite

the Rosary @ 10AM on the 3rd Wednesday of

every month @ Hacienda Oaks. Everyone is

The Prayer and Life Workshops are a new form of
