Please note the following important information:

Access to the college grounds is from 8am onwards. There will be no access before this

time.

Access to BCA is via the A404 please do not use Burchetts Green Road as this is not

suitable for Horse Boxes or Trailers.

Entry to events at Berkshire College does not entitle riders or visitors to use other

equestrian facilities, including the grass rides and the cross country areas. Riders or

visitors are not entitled to be anywhere on the estate other than the specific facilities

hired as per the Booking Form.

There is no access to either the Main Yard or Top Yard other than access to the Muck

Heap behind Top Yard. Please comply with all signs indicating No Entry or Private.

DISCLAIMER

Neither the organisers, nor any person acting on their behalf accept any liability for any

loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators or any other

persons or property whatsoever. The Organiser of this event has taken reasonable

precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to

be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent

accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of ALL the officials and stewards.

Anyone in breach of this will be asked to leave the premises.

RULES

PLEASE READ THE NSEA RULES CAREFULLY. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF TEAM

MANAGERS/PARENTS TO BE FAMILIAR WITH THE CURRENT RULES

Most importantly:

1. Riders who have competed in ANY 1m classes may not compete at Mini level

Show Jumping.

2. The NSEA 30cm rule applies to Mini, Novice & Intermediate classes

SCHEDULE

All classes open to teams and individuals. All count towards the Regional Points League

Course walk for Class 1 is at 9am. Class 1 will start at 9.15am and classes will

run concurrently. Start times, and course walk times for all classes, will be

available on Thursday 18th September 2014 on the school website

www.stgabriels.co.uk and on the NSEA website www.nsea.org.uk

CLASS 1: Mini 70/75cms Single phase. Riders minimum age 8 years on 1

st January 2014, maximum under 14 on 1

st January 2014.

CLASS 2: NOVICE 80/85cms Single phase. Riders U19 on 1

st Jan 2014.

CLASS 3: INTERMEDIATE 90/95cms Single Phase. Riders U19 on 1

st Jan 2014.

CLASS 4: OPEN 1m/1.05m Single Phase. Riders U19 on 1

st Jan 2014.

£14 per individual / £50 per team to include first aid.

Teams of 4, top 3 scores count.

Trophy to the winning team in each class. Prizes for the first 3 individuals. Rosettes will

be awarded to 6th

place for both teams and individuals. Prize giving will be unmounted,

and will immediately follow each class.

Conditions of Entry

General

1 All entries must be made on the official form provided, by the school representative, and should be

sent to the Entries Secretary, together with the appropriate entry fee. No entries will be accepted

over the telephone or by e mail. No entries will be accepted without full payment.

2 Cheques should be made payable to ‘St Gabriel’s’ If a receipt is required a s.a.e. must be sent with

the entry form.

3 Entries close on Friday 12th September 2014 or when classes are full. Late entries for teams will

not be accepted. Late entries for individuals may be taken on the day with an extra charge of £3.

This will be dependent on numbers pre-entering, and will be entirely at the Organiser’s discretion.

4 The Judges’ decisions are final. Any competitor or person wishing to make an objection must first

deposit £20 with the Secretary, with the objection in writing within 15 minutes of the incident

occurring. The £20 will be refunded only if the objection is upheld.

5 The Organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry or to amend or alter this Schedule.

6 No refunds will be given after the close of entries on 12th

September 2014.

Horse and Rider

1. No horse/pony may compete more than once in each class. No rider may compete more than

once in each team. No horse or rider combination to compete in more than two classes.

2. No horse/pony under 4 years of age should compete.

3. Hard hats to standard EN 1384 or PAS 015 must be worn by anyone riding on the Showground.

4. Horses tied up to the outside of lorries or trailers must not be left unattended at any time.

5. All areas shall be left clean, undamaged and free from rubbish. Mucking out is prohibited in the

car / lorry park. Droppings, hay and rubbish must be removed from the lorry parks to the muck

heap on Top Yard.

6. Only the designated practice areas must be used to warm up. Galloping is not permitted under any

circumstances on the showground.

7. The area around the entrance to the main ring should be kept clear for those waiting to compete.

8. On the third refusal the rider is eliminated. If the rider falls off they are eliminated and must not

remount in the arena.

Team Rules

1. Each rider must be on the roll of the school they represent, or have been on roll during the previous

term, and not yet have taken up another school place or that of a university / college.

2. Each team has four members, with the three best scores being counted.
