Foodanddrinkswillbeavailable.Proceedsfromthiseventgotosupportvarioushumantraffickingministriesinthelocalarea.
IntheExhibitHall,ourguestspeakerswillbeSheriffAdrianGarciaofHarrisCounty.SheriffGarciahas stated that“sexuallyorientedbusinessesthathaveproliferatedintheFM1960corridorinthecounty’snorthernsuburbswillbecomespecialtargetsofnewenforcement.”

ThecurveinthestreetcomingfromYoungOaktoValleySceneWay isalways blocked by a parkedWhiteNissanAltima,forcingonetoventureintotheoncominglanetopassthrough. Thiscausescongestionforcingon-comingcarstowaittopass. Thelaneisanopassingareamarkedbysolidyellowlines. Thisisanaccidentwaitingtohappen.SometimescarscomingfromYoungOakarenotalwaysdrivingslowlyandIamsurprisedtheownerofthevehicleisnotconcernedabout
someonehittinghiscarsinceitishalfwayinthelane.Werealizefindingaparkingareaforhiscarmaybeanissue
butwhynotparkintheirdriveway? Manytimesthereisnotanothervehicleonthedriveway.
AnotherconcernisthespeedinwhichcarstravelonValleyScene andeither completely ignoring the stop sign or notcomingtoacompletestop. Maybeareminderandmentioninyournextnewslettertoourresidents?
WehavelivedinStoneForestsince2006andhaveimmenselyenjoyedourlifehere. Itisabeautifulsubdivisionbutwewanttokeepitsafeforeveryoneespeciallyourchildren.

Inthisissue,Iwillofferyouinstructionsonhowtoexecutethetwo-handedbackhandhighapproachshot.Thisshotisusedwhenaplayeriscaughtin“no-person’sland”(aroundtheservicelinearea)andreceivesahighballtovolley.Theimportantpartofthisshotistobeabletohitadeepvolleytothefeetoftheopponentsand/ortohitadeepvolleyclosetothebaseline,sotheopponentisputinadefensivemodeandhitsasofterballsotheplayercannowmoveclosertothenetforthe“killerorplacementvolley”.Intheillustrations,LindaHenson,aplayerattheGreyRockTennisClub,showsthepropertechniquetoexecutethisstroke.
Step 1:TheReadyPositionandSplitStep:WhenLindarealizesthatsheiscaughtin“no-person’sland”,shetakesthesplitstepbybendingthekneesandstayingonhertoes.Herracketisinthevolleypositionandherfeetareangledtowardthepathoftheincomingball.
Step 2: TheBackSwing:OnceLindarealizesthattheballhasbeendirectedtoherbackhand,shewillturnherupperbodyandwilltaketheracketslightlyback.Noticethatthelefthandnexttotheright
handtoallowhertokeephercenterofgravityinthecenter.Shehasloadedherweightonherleftfootandwillbereadytostepforwardtomeettheball.Shewillmakeaslightchangetowardthecontinentalgriponbothhands.
Step 3:ThePointofContact:Lindanowisreadytostepintotheball.Shehaskepthereyeontheballandhercenterofgravitynowisshiftedtowardthepointofcontact.Noticetherighttoepointingtotheballmeetingtheracket.Thefaceoftheracketisopentoallowhertohitbehindtheballandallowmaximumnetheightandallowhertohittheballdeep.Thecontroloftheballwillbemadewiththelefthand,whichisholdingtherackettighter.Therighthandismorerelaxedandhelpskeepthefaceoftheracketina45degreeangleatthepointofcontact.
Step 4:TheFollowThrough:OnceLindahasmadecontactwiththeball,shefinishesthefollowthroughwithherwrist laidback.Herrightarmisnexttoherbodyandhereyeshaveshiftedtowardhertarget.
Step 5:TheMovefortheKillVolley:AstheballisheadedtowardheropponentandLindarealizesthathershotitdeep,nowshemovesclosetothenetfortheputawayvolley.Ifhershotwasnotdeep,Lindawilldecidetostayclosetotheservicelinetoprotecttheloboverherhead.Bythelookinhereyesandhersmile,sheisreadytogoforthe“killvolley”.
