Our Mission - Nuestra Misión
We, the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi, guided by the Holy
Spirit, are a Christian Community called by God to take part in the
mission of love and truth in the world. With firm faith in Jesus
the Christ and the Holy Gospel, we find our strength
through prayer and the Sacraments, that we may become God’s
servants to our sisters and brothers.

Dear Parishioners and Friends, Peace and blessings! This weekend
we come to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family. On behalf of the
friars here at St. Francis I would like to thank all of you for
your support during this time of Covid-19 and in a special way for
your cards and gifts given to us for Christmas. Your support has
meant a lot to each of us. Special thanks for who have gave some
extra in our Christmas collection this year and to you who donated
for our Christmas flowers. This is what it means to being the
Family of St. Francis Church, we are there for each other and
support one another. Again, thank you! Today’s Gospel notes that
Jesus was circumcised on the eighth day after his birth, in
accordance with the Mosaic Law. At that time, he was called Jesus,
the name he was given by the angel Gabriel. On the 40th day after
Jesus’ birth, Mary performed the appropriate purification rites and
made her offering at the Temple. Although the Law of Moses
re-quired an offering of a lamb, those who could not afford a lamb
could substitute two turtledoves or two pigeons. In this scene,
Luke identifies Joseph and Mary as being poor, and indeed
throughout Luke’s Gospel, Jesus will show special concern for the

Queridos Feligreses y Amigos, ¡Paz y bendiciones! ¡Este fin de
semana venimos a celebrar la fiesta de la Sagrada Familia. En
nombre de los hermanos aquí en San Francisco, quisiera agradecerles
a todos vuestro apoyo durante este tiempo de Covid-19 y de modo
especial por nuestras tarjetas y regalos que se nos han dado para
Navidad. Su apoyo ha significado mucho para cada uno de nosotros.
Agradecimiento especial por quiénes han dado algo extra en nuestra
colección de Navidad este año y a ustedes que donaron para nuestras
flores de Navidad. Esto es lo que significa ser la Familia de la
Iglesia de San Francisco, estamos allí el uno para el otro y nos
apoyamos unos a otros. ¡De nuevo, gracias! El Evangelio de hoy
señala que Jesús fue circuncidado al octavo día después de su
nacimiento, de acuerdo con la Ley Mosaica. En ese momento, se

Confesiones en la Iglesia de San Francisco de Asis Durante los
tiempos de oración privada (3PM-6PM), los
frailes estarán disponibles para escuchar confesiones. Esto
tendrá lugar en el narthex/vestíbulo de la Iglesia.
Las confesiones serán cara a cara, se usarán máscaras y, si es
una línea, recuerde 6 pies de distancia.
La línea se formará en el pasillo junto a la Santísima Ma-dre.
El Padre Prem en inglés y español y el Padre Martin
y Padre Joy en ingles.

Confession in St. Francis of Assisi Church During times of
private prayer (3PM—6PM), the friars
will be available to hear confessions. This will take place in
the narthex/vestibule of the church.
Confessions will be face to face, masks worn, and if a line,
remember 6 feet apart.
Line will form on the aisle by the Blessed Mother. Fr. Prem in
English and Spanish and Fr. Martin & Fr. Joy
in English.
PARISH OFFICE UPDATE
1. Office will be open Monday through
Thursday from 10:00 to 3:00. 2. Church will be open for private
prayer
Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:00.
3. Confessions will be available during the private prayer
times.
4. All must wear masks and keep social dis-tancing in
church.
5. The bathrooms will be locked until further notice.
6. During weekend Masses, there will be a basket to place your
offering in and no formal collection.
7. Sign of peace will be with a nod or a wave only. 8. Communion
will be received in the hand
only. No exceptions. 9. All Masses, weddings, baptisms and
funerals are permitted with 75 maximum people. Masks must be
worn by all.
10. Entrance to church will be 15 minutes be-fore Mass and doors
locked when Mass begins. Use side door by friary.

“…as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must forgive.” - COLOSSIANS
3:13 Forgiving is one of the hardest things for people to do. We
can’t give what we don’t have. We need to receive God’s mercy and
forgiveness first before we can give it to others. Go to the
sacrament of Reconcilia-tion and receive God’s mercy and
forgiveness. Then, share give the gift of forgiveness with someone
– a family member, a friend or a co-worker. Pick up the phone or
text someone right now.

dárselo a otros. Vaya al sacramento de la Reconciliación y reciba
la misericordia y el perdón de Dios. Luego, comparta el regalo del
