If you have been attending recently, say for the last six months, I would like to invite you to come to our twice-annual Welcome Night next Saturday, April 30, right after the 5:00 Mass in the Great Hall of the Parish Center. We do a brief history of how a tiny Frisco mission of St. Michael of McKinney in the mid1960s grew into a huge parish with 7,000 in attendance (14,000 came on Easter weekend!). We then introduce our parish staff and use a diagram to explain how the various categories of ministries are organized in our parish. After sharing a light meal with each other, I conduct a tour of the church and the Chapel, describing the two different architectures of the Church and the Chapel. Going behind the scenes I tell of the “Why?” of the liturgical art such as stained glass windows, the San Damiano cross, the amazing etched glass rendition of the Last Supper, the development of the huge tabernacle, and the upcoming bronze statue of the Pietá. After touring the Chapel and talking about its Eucharistic stained glass windows and its liturgical art, we get to meet with and socialize with fellow new parishioners over refreshments and dessert. If you have been a long-time parishioner and would like to attend, welcome! You may remember a seminarian who spent a summer with us a few years ago—Michael Baynam. On Saturday, April 16, he and three other young men were ordained deacons. Next year they will be ordained priests for our diocese. Please pray for him and his classmates as they prepare to serve our diocese. We have just received the results of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries, an annual campaign to provide the annual operating expenses of our diocese; we conducted that campaign February 14. That is very different from the first ever Diocesan Campaign called “Our Faith…Our Future” which we conducted last November; in honor of our 125th anniversary of the establishment of our diocese, it received pledges of $125 million for the capital improvements of our diocese. You gave an outstanding response to both, and I want to thank you for your generous pledges. Regarding the Annual Appeal, only two other parishes had higher pledges—St. Ann in Coppell and St. Elizabeth Seton in Plano. Our goal was $202,000, and you pledged $306,251. God bless your amazing generosity!

Este pasado cuarto domingo de Pascua, los jóvenes del grupo VIVE nos invitaron a celebrar con Jesús resucitado el Vía Lucis o Camino de la Luz, en el cual recordamos los acontecimientos, inolvidables y trascendentales, que los cercanos a Jesús vivieron intensamente, con una gratitud y un gozo inimaginables desde el domingo de Pascua hasta el de Pentecostés. El Vía Lucis es una devoción reciente que puede complementar la del Vía Crucis, en ella se recorren catorce estaciones con Cristo triunfante desde la Resurrección hasta Pentecostés, y cada estación consta de una pequeña lectura del evangelio, una reflexión, una oración y una alabanza. Las estaciones son: 1º estación - Jesús resucita de la muer-te. 2º estación - Los soldados del sepulcro. 3º estación - Je-sús se aparece a las mujeres. 4º estación - El encuentro con María Magdalena. 5º estación - Pedro y Juan en el sepulcro vacío. 6º estación - El camino de Emaús. 7º estación - Jesús aparece en el cenáculo. 8º estación - Jesús comisiona a los apóstoles a perdonar los pecados. 9º estación - Jesús forta-lece la fe de Tomás. 10º estación - Jesús en el lago de Gali-lea. 11º estación - Jesús confirma a Pedro en el amor. 12º estación - Jesús encarga su misión a los apóstoles. 13º esta-ción - Jesús asciende al cielo. 14º estación - La venida del Espíritu Santo el día de Pentecostés. Gracias a los jóvenes por permitirnos compartir la alegría de Jesus resucitado. Si ustedes no pudieron asistir por la lluvia ojalá vengan el próximo año para ser testigos de este momento lleno de gozo. Si tenemos ganas de acom-pañar a Jesús en su pasión debemos acompañar también a Jesús resucitado. Por otra parte, acabamos de recibir los resultados de la Campaña Anual del Obispo para los Ministerios Católi-cos, la campaña anual para cubrir los gastos anuales de ope-ración de nuestra diócesis. Esta campaña se llevó a cabo el 14 de febrero y es distinta a nuestra primer campaña Dioce-sana llamada " Nuestra Fe ... Nuestro Futuro" que se realizó en noviembre pasado en honor de nuestro 125 aniversario de la creación de nuestra diócesis en la que recibieron pro-mesas por $ 125 millones para las mejoras de capital de nuestra diócesis. Ustedes respondieron de forma extraordi-naria a ambas campañas y quiero darles las gracias por sus generosas promesas. Sólo dos parroquias tienen promesas superiores a la nuestra: Santa Ana en Coppell y Santa Eliza-beth Seton en Plano. Nuestro objetivo era $ 202,000 y uste-des se comprometieron por $ 306,251. ¡Dios bendiga su gran generosidad!

Primera Comunión
La Práctica de Primera Comunión será el 26 de abril a las 6:45 p.m. en la Iglesia. Favor de llegar puntualmen-te.
El Sacramento de la Primera Comunión para los niños que han cumplido con todos sus requisitos será el 30 de abril a las 10:00 a.m. Favor de llegar puntualmente a las 9:00a.m. al Centro Parroquial.
Es un programa Católico de la Pasto-ral Juvenil para niños varones de 5º a 12º grado que les ayuda a crecer en el conocimiento de la fe católica, la amistad con Cristo y marcar la dife-rencia e impactar positivamente en sus familias, amigos y en el mundo que los rodea. Shalom Es un ministerio de ayuda para aquellas personas que están dispuestas a parar sus adicciones al alcohol y a las drogas pero sobre todo a recuperar una vida sana y feliz ofreciéndote un espacio fraterno serio y confidencial con apoyo para llegar a la recuperación, y la sanación para la persona adicta y sus familias o amigos que lo necesiten. BAPTISM ASSISTANTS
We are looking for volunteers to assist at the Bap-tisms on Sunday afternoons. The assistants will help with check in, hospitality, and assist the presider during the ceremony. With several volunteers you would only have to assist every other month but we will be able to work with your schedule. BIBLE STUDY Calling all single (unmarried/widowed) ladies 35+! Come be restored! You are invited to participate in a four week prayer group led by Shannon Terry and Lori Skillestad. It will be a time for edification and be reassured in God’s love; a time to hear the Word of God through Scrip-ture and to build up holy friendships with other sin-gle women. We will come together to celebrate our faith and to find strength in Christ and His Church. Our group format will be: Social time/ life updates, Scripture study – please bring your Bible, group dis-cussion, intentions and prayer. AED(AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIB-RILLATOR) AWARENESS TRAINING
The purpose of this training is to make the participants comfortable with how to use the AED machine. First Aid will be discussed, but only as it pertains to using the AED machine. This is mandatory training for Ushers, strongly recommended for all Liturgical Ministers and the Whole Congregation is invited. It is necessary to attend only one session as the same content is taught at each ses-sion. The next session is scheduled for: Saturday, April 30, 1:00pm to 2:30pm, Meeting Rooms A & B. This training will satisfy the Safe Environment Yearly re-training obligation. You must sign the Safe Environment Sign-in Sheets to receive credit.
