Observances for the Week

of November 20, 2016

Christ Jesus, I acknowledge You King of the universe.

All that has been created has been made for You.

Make full use of Your rights over me.

I renew the promises I made in Baptism,

when I renounced Satan and all his pomps and

works, and I promise to live a good Christian life

and to do all in my power to procure the triumph of

the rights of God and Your Church.

Divine Heart of Jesus,

I offer you my efforts

in order to obtain that all hearts

may acknowledge your Sacred Royalty,

and that thus the Kingdom of Your peace

may be established throughout the universe.

Amen.

Your dollars and food donations have been a benefit to so many needy and they are all grateful.

Note- Each month we are able to purchase, at a minimal cost, food from the reclamation center at the main campus. The items are donated from grocery stores, other donation drives and the mail carriers annual food drive. This supplements the wonderful donations you leave in our box.

Almighty God,

you bring forth bountiful food from the earth

that our loved ones may never grow hungry.

For this, we give thanks.

You give us families that meet at this time

to reunite and be one with each other.

For this, we give thanks.

You have let us live in a land

that has unbridled opportunity and unparalleled freedoms.

For this, we give thanks.

For those who are hungry today,

we pray for their fulfillment.

For families that are separated, we pray for their unity.

And for people who live in the midst of persecution,

we pray for their deliverance.

We ask all these things through Christ,

our ever-risen Lord.

Amen.

OZANAM MANOR

Ozanam Manor is extremely grateful to have been chosen as the recipient of St. Daniel the Prophet’s Christmas “Giving Tree” this year. Ozanam Manor is named after Blessed Frederic Ozanam, founder of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Ozanam Manor is a transitional, or bridge housing facility that is operated by the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Arizona. In many cases residents come to Ozanam Manor after literally living on the streets and alleys of the Phoenix area. The facility serves both men and women who are age 50 or older, or 18 and older with mental, or physical disabilities. Male and female residents live in separate quarters and are offered free emergency dorm style housing with a bed, bedside table and footlocker as well as the use of showers and rest rooms. Meals are offered free of charge in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment where the dignity of each individual is respected. Since the goal of facility is to transition residents into private permanent housing, Case Managers and Mentors assist them with job searches, counseling, resume writing and countless other services as they journey towards self-sufficiency and a life with dignity.
