Please join Catholic Social Services of Bucks County as we assist our neighbors in getting ready for Back to School! SSt. Padre Pio Festval St. Bede the venerable Parish in Holland, PA (Southampton, PA) invites you to join them for the 3rd Annual Padre Pio Festival, September 14-16, 2018. This year will be extra
special, as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the death of St. Pio of Pietrelcina.
The Festival will feature the private collection of relics of Padre Pio, which are normally housed in the Philadelphia Monastery of the Carmelite Sisters. The collection includes
Padre Pio’s glove, tunic and blood particles from his stigmata. Special masses will be held on Saturday evening, September 15, and again on Sunday, September 16. A street procession
and healing service, with confessions and blessing with relics, will follow the Sunday Mass.

Recognizing Academic Excellence at St. Ephrem The parish would like to acknowledge, in the parish bulletin, all of our high school students who have achieved
honors during the 2nd semester of the 2017-18 school year.
Most of the various Catholic high schools notify the rectory of those who have achieved honors, but we would
also like input from parents/guardians of students who attend any public high school, private non-Catholic high
school, Charter high school or on-line high school. Please email the information regarding your child’s
high academic achievement to the rectory ([email protected]) by July 30, 2018.
Would you like to receive a gluten free host? Not a problem! Please come to the priests’ sacristy 5 minutes before Mass
starts and notify the sacristan. He will put a gluten free host on the altar to be consecrated.
When you come forward to receive communion, come to one of the priests or deacons and request a “special host”.

Update of the 2018 Bucks County Pro-Life 5K Run, 2K Fun Walk
On Saturday, June 23, 2018, $1,260.00 was raised for Pro-Life thanks to the generosity of you, the parishioners of St. Ephrem Parish. Your monetary sacrifices are deeply appreciated.
The financial breakdown is as follows:
Number of donations from $1 to $24 6 $110.00 Number of donations from $25 to $49 8 $240.00 Number of donations from $50 to $99 4 $200.00 Number of donations of $100 5 $500.00 Total number of donations 23 $1050.00 20% of total personally matched by Fr. Katziner $210.00 Grand total collected $1,260.00 One half of the grand total will go directly to the Bucks County Pro-Life Coalition, which contributes each month to various local Pro-Life initiatives, eg. Blessed Margaret Castello. The other half of the $1,260.00,
or $630.00, will go to the St. Ephrem Pro-Life Committee to help defray the cost of some of their activities, primarily the cost of the bus to Washington, DC, on January 22nd for the Pro Life March. The cost of the
bus is around $1900 and has been subsidized by the parish.
St. Ephrem had 8 parishioners who participated in the run part of the walk/run. Altogether, only about 50 people participated at Peace Valley on June 23rd.
